San Joaquin Asparagus Festival puts up $1000 to Sprint Car Challenge Tour Dash winner on November 3rd

Stockton, CA…When the Sprint Car Challenge Tour presented by Elk Grove Ford and Abreu Vineyards invades the Stockton Dirt Track for the Tribute to Gary Patterson on November 3rd there will be even more money up for grabs, with the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival putting up $1000 to the Dash winner.

Adding in the year-long sponsorship of Race Punk the driver who comes out on top in the six-lap shootout will go home with $1100 total. The 30-lap feature will award $5500 to the winner thanks to extra money from Kyle Larson Racing. On the King of the West-NARC side of things the Sunneyvalley Bacon Dash will pay $1000-to-win and the A-main is $4,000-to-win/ $650-to-start thanks to HydroChemPSC. There is also an $1100 bounty up for grabs if a driver can sweep both features on November 3rd.

The annual San Joaquin Aspragus Festival returns to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on April 12th, 13th and 14th, 2019. A highlight of the event will be the second annual Asparagus Cup sanctioned by the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Opening night on Friday April 12th will award $10,000-to-win the feature and the Saturday finale will pay out a strong $15,000-to-win. Each night will also be an impressive $800 just to start the feature.

Several entertainment acts will be a part of the festival, with Sunday’s lineup including country stars Parmalee and Joe Diffie.

The Asparagus Festival was first created in 1985 by a small group of Stockton residents led by Gordon Medlin and Joe Travale, with the backing of Bank of Stockton President Robert Eberhardt. A year later, the first festival was held at Oak Grove Regional Park along Eight Mile Road.

The 35th annual Tribute to Gary Patterson on Saturday November 3rd showcases championship night for both the Sprint Car Challenge Tour presented by Elk Grove Ford and Abreu Vineyards, and the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Racing Series.

One night prior to that on Friday November 2nd the Stockton Dirt Track will present Winged 360 Sprint Cars, the C&H Veteran Ent. presents Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour and Dwarf Cars. The non-sanctioned Winged 360 event will be following SCCT technical rules with a $2500-to-win/ $400-to-start main event. There is no muffler rule on either night of competition.

Plenty of camping will be available on the fairgrounds for Tribute to GP weekend with a cost of $33 per night. There is a two-night minimum to camp. To pay by credit card please contact 916-370-9417. Remember to bring extension cords, water hoses, water hose Y’s and in-ground water spigots. During the day on Saturday from noon to 4pm live music will entertain the crowd behind the grandstands.

All seating on Friday November 2nd is general admission, while Saturday November 3rd features reserved seating in the upper deck. The front gate and ticket booth opens at 4pm on Friday, with racing at 6pm. On Saturday will call and ticket booth opens at 2pm, with the front gate opening at 3pm.
