A few weeks ago Kyle posted a picture of his left rear tire after running 3 races, all of which he won.  Knight Before the Kings Royal, Silver Cup @ Lernerville and The Osky Challenge.  While it shows a little wear, it looks to be in good shape and could be used again.  Question - is it common to get that many laps out of a left rear?

How long do the front tires normally last on a sprint car?

For the top race teams, do you run a new right rear each race night?  Are you able to get several nights on one tire?

Asking primarily about 410's.  I know the 360's and 305's might be different.  I also understand some tracks are more abrasive that others, but curious about tire usage in general.  Thanks.

Im not tire expert or team member but among the bigger teams I dont think this is too common. Just depends on the surfaces the car runs on. Just this past weekend I do believe Logan Schuchart used the same LR at Eldora Friday and on saturday at Lernerville.

I thought I had read a while back that once a tire had heat cycled (heated up during a race, then cooled down afterwards) it was different?  Is that not the case?

That's what I thought.  And I would guess that the tire heat cycles during cautions so it could go through several cycles in the night.

Even big teams get a lot of races out of fronts, but rears either Left or Right I don't think it is common at the 410 level to be getting 3 big shows out of a LR. That comes down to the way Larson drives and the way the tracks were prepped.

Track Prep, setup, tire prep and driver.

We have used LR 3 nights, easy. We can typically get 2 nights out of a RR.

We ran the same RR at Sharon all night, still had tits on it when the feature was done. Ran a LR with at least 1 feature on it from the night before, re-grooved it, siped it again and polished it. Finished 3rd or 4th, I cannot remember.

Tire prep is the biggest thing now, I cannot stress that enough. People want to say it isn’t, but what else touches the track? But if a track lays rubber or the driver spins the tires all night you will only get 1 night out of a RR and maybe you can get another heat race out of the LR.

But what Larson did happens with other folks, we are just not named Larson and we are not winning with the Outlaws.

Thanks for the input.  I'm a fan, not a racer so I don't have first-hand experience.
