Exact same distance for me Saturday night. What should be the better show? Been to Spoon River once but I was young so both will feel like new tracks.

-Looks like Deer Creek has UMSS 360s and wingless in addition to the IRA.

-Spoon River has USAC D2 midgets and POWERI midgets in addition to the MOWA.

Man thats a tough call. I am kinda in the same situation. Both nice high banked 3/8's. IRA might pull a few extra big names like last week. And Powri may have a bunch a KKR cars in addition to their regular hot shoes. I have seen some excellent midget shows at spoon. It is a bit of a hidden gem of a track.

Usually this race is same night as Cedar lake. which puts me in the middle of those two. but the rain pushed it back a week. I will probably head to deer creek this hear solely on a 50 minute shorter drive. Both should be really good. it's a coin flip.

The IRA & UMSS shows were three classes of Sprints all open wheel.  There were 29 non-wing (UMSS Traditioinal), 19 360(w) and if memory serves me 36 IRA 410's with Brooke Tatnell, Kerry Madsen, Mark Dobmeieir, Terry McCarl,  Sammy Swindell, Bill Balog and company.  If your Missouri show even has one class of Stock Cars or Modifieds to sit through the best choice already becomes a no brainer.  Then there's the Knoxville Late Model Nationals to consider if you're an open Late Model fan like I am (comes in a close 2nd behind Sprints).  I've got LORTV and a 55" 4k in the family room so as much as I love Sprints and as good as last weekend was at CLS I'll be saving drive and motel money and watching LORTV.  wink

Deer Creek would be 125 miles for me, too damn far to be entirely comfortable driving my old beater van.  The wife gets the good car and I get the old van I use to haul yard wast, lumber and stuff for the family.  The rusty old Caravan has a short 60 mile leash on her or I might have considered going to both Spencer and Deer Creek.

Yeah it is kind of silly to drive 3 or so hours away from the Late Model Nationals at Knoxville as they usually are pretty good. Might do a prelim night if not in the field. On a Saturday the drive doesn't scare me too much and I just know the sprint drivers so much better and get into it more. I should follow late models more closely but too many racing hobbies might drive the wife crazy. I like to get the car out and just roll for a while enjoying the ride. Its the trips home that are less fun unless the racing was so good you could talk about it for hours. The double shot of Spencer and Deer Creek would be the pick but work on Friday with a 4 hour drive to Spencer makes things difficult.

If I go anywhere it will be to Cedar Lake for the final night of their Legendary 100.  I have only been to a couple races this year and I need to show the Late Models and Mods some love.
