Josh Schneiderman – An Eye-Opening Experience at Eldora!

Des Moines, IA (July 19, 2018) – Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team are back in the state of Iowa after a great trip to Ohio for the Brad Doty Classic and the Kings Royal! “The Professor” and the team will return to the regular routine this Saturday night for 3M night at the Knoxville Raceway, as they prepare the World of Wheels #49 for the Knoxville Nationals.

During the three nights of racing at the famous Eldora Speedway, Josh and the team didn’t quite earn the results they wanted, but made headway every night. “There wasn’t much there in terms of results,” said Schneiderman. “However, I’m really happy with the fact that we improved each time we hit the track and we learned a lot and have plenty of notes for the next time we make it back that way.”

Schneiderman knew to temper his expectations heading into the Ohio swing. “We knew we were heading out there to run against the best of the best,” said Josh. “Not only that, but at a track where most of the guys we were competing against have raced multiple times, so I’m happy with how we were able to make progress throughout the weekend.”

It wasn’t just the level of competition that “The Professor” and the Deuce team had to overcome, but the track itself. “That place is absolutely wild,” said Josh. “There truly isn’t a place I’ve raced that is anything like it; the closest I could come to comparing it to somewhere I’d raced previously is Jacksonville, Illinois, but on massive steroids!”

As Josh put it, racing at Eldora takes some getting used to. “To be honest, it took me until Friday night to feel comfortable in the car there,” said Josh. “On Thursday night, it took me the whole night to get used to it.”

While sometimes watching races at a track on television can give you a feel for it, Schneiderman noted that was anything but true for Eldora. “The mental image I’d built up of racing there from TV was nowhere near reality,” said Josh. “The speed is something you just can’t comprehend until you’re actually out there, and it always looks so wide as a fan, but it was much narrower than I thought, especially exiting turn two.”

The whole Deuce Motorsports team enjoyed the trip, which was made great by the warm welcome of the fans and the support they showed. “The fans out there were amazing the whole week,” said Josh. “We had so many people come up and thank us for making the tow, whether at Attica or Eldora.”

That support flowed over to a lot of new fans rocking “The Professor” gear in the stands! “I sold more shirts in one week in Ohio than I had the whole season before,” said Schneiderman. “There were so many cool people that came over and showed their appreciation. It was definitely an eye-opening experience and something we look forward to doing more of in the future!”

Josh and the Deuce Motorsports are back in Iowa and ready for this Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway, as they tune up for the fast approaching Knoxville Nationals!
