Just recieved an email from DV stating that the three nights of the Kings Royal will now be included in the DV Sprint Car Fast Pass! Great news and great for the fans that they were able to do this. THANKS DV and ELDORA !!!!

If you don’t get dirtvision now, when would you ever get it? Signing up today gets you Doty classic, Kings royal, Silver cup, 3 nights in Posse land and double Ironman 55s for 39 bucks. 

This is a great add.  Was going to watch Saturday even if I had to pay extra.  The fast pass coverage on dirtvision has been outstanding so far this year

That makes three races available to me on Saturday night, three on TV and four if I were to get off my ass and actually go to the track.  Not a bad problem to have.

Anyone know if the Nationals are included in the package?  I have had it all year long and the coverage has been excellent, they have really improved things and hope it continues.....

Nationals and World Finals are not included. The royal was originally included in that group as well, which is why it was such good news. 

I have to admit i was a little salty that after all the rain outs and me hapily paying the subscription fee every month that they were going to make me pay extra for this race im glad that they decided to include it. 

I couldn't be happier with my decision to sign up for the monthly subscription.  As someone already mentioned, it was a bummer there were so many rainouts early on.  However, if you get the calculator out, realize they are going to still run 80% or more of the shows, it comes out to a pretty good deal.  Now, you throw in the King's Royal, and I am a very happy guy. I'm not really interested in the Nationals (personally) as I will be there for all 4 days!  

I hope this decision is working out well for Dirtvision and I hope they are making $$$ off of this so this service can continue!!!!

I hope they are making the kind of money that allows for them to leave the pricing alone for next year.

You are correct blazer.  $39/month is a little on the edge for a lot of people--including myself about 5-10 years ago.  I have been blessed the last few years with good financial fortune.  However, if that were to turn around at all, I would have to seriously consider the subscription.  For now, I am glad to pay it.  

Me too.  I'm retiring at the end of the month and PPV is keeping me connected to the sport as I don't see myself traveling and staying motels.  Any post retirement trips won't include racing, the wife won't go and I can't leave her alone in a motel in some strange town.  Pitting for my neighbor on his non wing limited motor Sprint will get me to seven class stock car modified orgies but not many big Sprint shows.

I will have plenty of time but would have to share expenses and ride with someone.  My vehicle that I'm driving to the park and ride is an old rusty van that I use for hauling and stay within a 50 mile radius of home.  She's keeping tabs on her 88 year old mother and needs the good car.

I spent 15 seasons taking photos and writing for a local racing paper (and an occasional Flat Out article) so I'd travel alone and work out of my vehicle.  Spending the night in the infield isn't a good way to network with potential travel companions.  Prior to the reporting I'd travel with my son but his situation changed and he stopped going when car counts took a nose dive.  

Hence the PPV, it's a life saver and allows me to stay connected to the big shows.  My sole reason for doing the work was to "sing for my supper" so I could get media passes and attend upwards of 40 races per season.  Now I'm down to 1 so far this season and about to have an income adjustment.  

I don't travel alone, late night drives through deer country aren't as easy as the once we're and won't get any exercise easier as I close in on 70.  My advice, hug a senior who can't get to many races but has been addicted to the sport since 1960.

I could go within 50 miles and endure 7 class stock car and modified orgies to see 15 sprints.  Attica on PPV was much better.  Trust me, you wouldn't drive my van 300 miles to Knoxville.

I watched on Dirtvision too. it was good, no way i could go in person. 

My main gripe, which is nobody's fault, is that you have to watch what the cameraman decides to focus on. They did a pretty good job, but a few times announcer & cameraman were not in sync. In person , i would have been watching Larson fight thru the field....

plus I like the smell of burning methanol

The reason for my comment was that i like to encourage guys our age to get off their duffs! I see too many of us giving up on adventure, exercise, etc. I try to stay active......

I agree with your gripe, but the camera doesn't really need to be in sync with the announcer if the picture shot is on racing action. Another thought is why don't they pan the shot back a bit and show a broader view of the action?  No need to have such a tight shot on just one or two cars. Two cameras perched towards both ends of the front stretch would seem perfect, with a control room calling where to focus each camera and then broadcasting the action based on what the control room sees. Just a thought, but if one camera was covering turn four through turn two and one was covering turn one through turn three not much would be missed. That coupled with the announcer's call would probably work pretty well. I could care less about the speed shot from the fence below the flagman and I don't need to see the leader go by the flagstand at the checkers when the race is well in hand. Those are wasted camera positions, imo.
