A thread about the All Stars says that Ryan Smith, 49x is running an "Outlaw schedule". I had to stop and figure that one out. I've also heard the same thing referred to as a "true outlaw schedule". How does that compare to what Donny Schatz runs on the "Outlaws schedule"? It gets too confusing. Use of the word "outlaw" immediately makes you think of the World of Outlaws. They've spent a lot of effort marketing their name and fame to make us think of them first whenever the word "outlaw" is used in sprint car racing.

Why can't we just call it what it is- an "Open Schedule", as in not running exclusively for points somewhere?

Who else has said they are running an Open Schedule at this point?
