Anyone else heading to the show tonight? Should be interesting to see how the track holds up. I saw guys like Ian Madsen and Brian Brown are heading over. Im sure Balog and Thiel will be there to rep the IRA. Any other drivers that people have heard will be there? I'd love to see a large car count and great racing. The Chicago area has been starving for a dirt track ever since Santa Fe closed

It's on both Balog and Thiel's schedule.  Justin Henderson will be there in the Thone 59.

Why does Route 66 feel the need for 2 support classes on a weeknight. 1 is plenty.

Just speculation on my part, but it's probably just for back gate to help as much as possible with purse. A $10k to win show on a Tuesday night is a little risky.

I am guessing this is a mid-week purse $6k to win. Guess we will find out tomorrow on the results page.

Any word on whether Jac is in the 17 for the race, will 17 be there, any word on Joey. Been pretty quiet on that front since this weekend.

$10,000 to win.  (There are more $10,000 to win midweek shows than $6000 to win.)

Jeremy Elliott said an hour or so ago on Twitter that Jac's still in the 17 while they search for a replacement driver.  So yes, he'll be there.

Plus a $25,000 to win Lville Silver Cup that's always midweek wink

Excited to see 'the greatest show on dirt' at this new (for me) track. Weather looks great, if you are able to make it to this race, I suggest you do so.

Well that was fun, and promising as far as future events.

Sounded like a good show, but I didn't "watch" it, just read results and twitter reaction.  How was the track and racing?

Track was fast, good surface and configuration. Nothing too unusual about it. There is a dip entering 3 that goes across pretty much the whole width of the track (from what I could tell). Luckily it didn't cause any problems, no flips or crashes last night. There's something else at the end of the front stretch too, you could see the cars hitting it (big ass pothole?) towards the middle. But again, wasn't really a huge problem, seemed like people adjusted their entry in to 1, coming in higher. Seemed like the outside was faster on starts. Dirt is a similar color as Knoxville. It looks to me like it's between 3/8ths and a 1/2 mile. Facility is excellent, possibly the nicest seats I've ever been in at a dirt track. HUGE grandstand. As Stealth87 mentioned early in the evening, they could host some big, high profile events. The racing was good, was a typical 'Donny was the fastest car at the end of the A main, running a perfect line around the inside' night. Kraig was looking great and had a shot until he lost power steering and fluid sprayed all over the inside of the cockpit. I will be back when the IRA are there the week of the Nascar race at the big track later this season.

Thanks larry!  Looks like an A+ facility.  I know WoO haven't been there since mid-2000s so maybe it'll remain as a midweek destination type show (especially if they keep it $10k to win) for years to come.  Drew some nice "outsiders" too in Balog, Henderson, McCarl x 2, the Dude, Ian Madsen, Brownie (obviously he has FVP connection), Bacon, Kaeding.

How was crowd?  From Twitter it looked like a good crowd (there's certainly enough of a population near there).

It seemed like a pretty good size crowd, especially for it being a Tuesday night. It would benefit them to find the right combination of support classes. They had a small amount of modifieds on hand, but no UMP late models (which were originally known the list of events for the night). Not sure what happened there. It seems well equipped to handle a big crowd, plenty of concessions and bathrooms. I'm contemplating getting a hotel in Chicago for the night on the future, kinda cool that it's near a huge city with lots to offer. They were smart to bring this type of racing back, I'm now interested in attending races at the dragstrip and the big track after seeing them in person.

Face it the majority of the MOWA guys only run short tracks and work for a living. Plus if you don't run any other Woo events you gotta buy a Woo membership, teathers, wheel covers, etc just to run a Woo show. Imagine most of them didn't see to good of return based on size of the track and investment needed.

Where was PPM at? I could've seen Brad Loyet, Paul Nienhiser, or maybe A.J. Bruns running but my guess would be work? Joe B. Miller was there.

I would guess in UMP country on the same nights the Hell Tour is running you will struggle to get Mod or Late Model guys to show up. The Hell Tour to them is a big deal, even if they are only spectating. If they had paired this race with the Hell Tour at Joliet i believe you would have had a pretty late night. It's unfortunate they were competing for support classes but that's part of the game.
