BRODY ROA BACK ON TRACK AT THE VENTURA RACEWAY SATURDAY NIGHT!
(Buena Park, CA, May 3, 2017) Garden Grove, California sprint car racer Brody Roa will resume his pursuit of the USAC/CRA Sprint Car championship when the series makes its only stop of 2017 at the Ventura Raceway this Saturday night, May 6th.
Coming off one of the most impressive races of his career when he came from the back to finish second at the Bakersfield Speedway three weeks ago, Roa comes into Saturday’s race at the track affectionately known as “The Commotion by the Ocean,” second in series points. Heading into the event, the 26-year-old rising star is a mere 29 points out of the lead.
The Ventura Raceway is a track that has seen Roa turn a lot of laps and take home his fair share of trophy hardware. When the USAC/CRA Series last appeared there a year ago this weekend, Roa was third fast qualifier in the 29-car field, finished fourth in his heat race and took third in the 30-lap main. His prowess at the track over the years and his powerful early season start in 2017 make him one of the favorites heading into Saturday’s race.
The #91R team has parlayed all the hard work on and off the track and its well-maintained equipment into three top five finishes in the first three races of 2017. Roa opened the season with a bang at Perris Auto Speedway when he finished fifth at the season opener despite dealing with a shock problem in March. Five weeks later he snatched a third-place finish at Perris before following that up with the epic drive from the back (necessitated by a flat tire) to second at Bakersfield.
Fans wishing to cheer Roa on at Ventura are in for a treat. The tiny bull ring is one of the most picturesque tracks in the USA. It literally sits on the beach with waves crashing a few hundred feet from the crash walls. It is located on the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W. Harbor Boulevard, Ventura (93001).
