Davey Brown - 83(?) and still massaging a Sprint Car from his knees - and still winning! Take all the lengendary mechanics and mix them together and you still don't have a Davey Brown - Karl Kinser included.

I hope those of you who get to see him every week appreciate just what you are looking at!

The racing doesn't have to be that great. As long as I witness him in action, I'm good - got my money out of that Pit Pass!

He's a living legend. Comparing him to Karl only serves to lessen the impact of your original point, which is, he's one of the greatest sprint car mechanics ever.

Senior is a remarkable guy. He has been around dirt tracks it seems like forever. His list of owners and drivers is second to none. Davey Brown Jr.  Is following his father's footsteps.

A couple weeks ago Davey and Lance participated in a round table discussion at EMMR.    It was 2 hours long and very entertaining.      Lance is quite funny and knows a lot of history and details (specifically Wolfgang's 1985 season).      Dave Hare did a great job hosting.  He would bring up a good topic and then was just let them roll with it.

Some things mentioned:

- Davey wanted Lance to lose 20 pounds before he drove their car.

- Lance recalled a Davey quote that Williams Grove Speedway is the best dyno.

- Davey mentioned that Don had to retire because another hard crash could have left him a "vegetable"

- Davey mentioning something about a computer being able to provide measurements but he doesn't really pay attention to the results....

- Lance mentioning how 20 pounds makes such a big difference with a car.

- Both Lance and Davey mentioned wanting to go to Knoxville a few weeks early to prepare for the Nationals, IF they were going to make a run at it.

Here is a video of the discussion.  I watched it a couple days ago and thought it was great.

Back in November Davey, Don Kreitz Sr, and Don Jr. attended a similar roundtable discussion.   It was decent but I thought the recent one was better and more fun to watch.

Go Davey Brown !!

Alum 427. Davey Brown jr. passed away in the late 80's or early 90's.  Davey Sr. is an awesome individual, at 80+ years of age he is still sharp as a tack. I really enjoy listening to him speak, I wish someone would write a book about his  6+ decades of full time racing.

Thanks for the links.  I highly enjoyed the roundtable they had last year with Kauffman, Rahmer, and Paxton.  It's always good to hear the old stories, and be able to pick up small tidbits of info here and there.
