Sprint Series of Oklahoma and URSS in Longdale This Saturday Night!
 
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – March 27, 2017 - Fresh off his season-opening victory in Ardmore this past Saturday night, Chad Koch of Wichita Falls, Texas leads the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car Series presented by Smiley’s Racing Products to the beautiful Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma this coming Saturday night, April 1, in a combined event with the Kansas – based Myers Racing Engines United Rebel Sprint Series.
 
This event will be race number two for the SSO and will come one week after competing at Southern Oklahoma Speedway where Koch took the lead with six laps remaining and went on to claim his first ever victory with the series.
Race-long leader Jake Martens, who finished fourth in the season opener, will have a strong fan base as the near-by Fairview resident will also be in competition.
 
Other SSO touring regulars include Shayla Waddell, Blake Daccus, Joe Wood, Jr., Loyd Clevenger, Chris Kelly, Jerry Jumper, Cody Whitworth and defending series and IMCA national sprint car champion Andy Shouse. A strong field of rookie of the year contenders will also be on hand, including Josh Toho, Dillon Laden, Tanner Conn and Justin Fisk.
 
Brandon Long of Wichita Falls is also expected to make the trip as well as a couple more “Texan’s” to invade the “Sooner State.”
 
The URSS will be opening their season at Longdale and a new series champion will look to be crowned as defending series champion and race winner Luke Cranston will not be competing this season. Leading the series will be former three-time series champion Jake Bubak, 2016 IMCA sprint car rookie of the year Zach Blurton, Mike Peters, Brian Herbert, Ty Williams, Keefe Hemel, Tyler and Jordan Knight, Steven Richardson, Taylor Velasquez and Jed Werner.
 
Close to thirty drivers from a four-state area are expected to compete in the only sprint car event scheduled for the track in 2017 and this event will pay $1000 to win/$250 just to start the night’s feature finale.
 
It will also be “Educator Night” at the speedway with all school employees being admitted into the grandstands for free and will also see a full-slate of weekly divisions also in competition; including IMCA modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars and Pure Stocks.
 
Gates will open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission is just $15 for adults; $12 for all seniors and military while ages 12 and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free.
 
Longdale Speedway is located a quarter mile south of town on Hwy 58.
