Longdale Speedway Ready for March Racing Action!

Longdale, Oklahoma – March 1, 2017 - The 2017 calendar has turned to March and that means drivers and fans are ready for a third full season of action-packed dirt track racing to get underway at Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma.

And for track general manager Greg Burgess, that means his second full tenure at the helm of all racing events from March through October at the big three-eighths mile oval.

The season will kick off on Friday night, March 10, with an open practice session from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. It will be a prelude to the first point race for the 2017 race season at Longdale Speedway as drivers competing in the tracks IMCA modified, IMCA sport mod, IMCA stock cars and pure stock divisions one night later on Saturday night, March 11. Pit gates for opening night will open at 4:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:00 PM start time.

The season opener is the first of 12 rounds under the Longdale Speedway Racing Series banner. The semi-banked oval will also host a variety of Top Gun Series races throughout the season. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for military members and seniors. Children ages 12 and younger get in free. Advanced tickets can be purchased by visiting http://www.LongdaleSpeedway.net . Fans who bring a business card and a matching picture ID get in free.

Then two weeks later on Saturday night, March 25, it will be round two of point racing at the speedway and “First Responders Night at the Races” where all members of law enforcement, EMT’s, emergency management as well as search and rescue will be admitted into the grandstands for free!

You can also keep track on all the happenings at the speedway on their website and view their 2017 track schedule, race updates and more. Also, heck out their official facebook page: Longdale Speedway Longdale OK for daily updates.

A special look ahead:

The first special event for 2017 will take place on Saturday night, April 1, as the popular open-wheeled sprint cars will make their only scheduled appearance for the season featuring the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car Series as well as the Kansas-based United Rebel Sprint Series. Last year saw Kansas driver Luke Cranston get the best of a twenty-six-car field to take the victory under the URSS banner.

NASCAR night will hit the speedway on Wednesday night, May 3, with NASCAR stars Kenny Wallace, Kenny Schrader and Tony Stewart making an appearance and compete against the track regulars.

Longdale Speedway is located a quarter mile south of the town of Longdale on Hwy 58. For more race information call the track (580) 886-5375.
