Any word on who has the Sunday July 2 date saw Grandview has the 4th and Lincoln thr 3RD WHICH IS ACTUALLY THE BEST NIGHT TO GET A BIG CROWD  right before the Holiday so that fills up Fri,Sat,Mon and Tues,. The Grove Friday 7th Port the 8th and Selinsgrove the 9th that leaves three open dates Sun,Wed and Thur is it Path, Hagerstown and Susky or are they taking days off.

Was surprised to see Lincoln on the Monday date as opposed to the traditional Thursday slot.  You're right, Lincoln will clean up their two dates as long as the weather cooperates.

My guess sees Path on Sunday and Hagerstown Thursday with Wednesday open.

Is Lernerville too far to be included in a PA Speed Week?  My guess is yes, heck it'd probably fit better in Ohio Speedweek (after Sharon) than PA Speedweek.  Always thought Lernervile could put on some sort of "Ohio vs PA" Sprint Show between Speedweeks...

HaHa I knew when I proposed the idea it would come back to bite me...believe me we give plenty of well deserved money for our partnership w/ Lernerville. I've actually thought about proposing the idea to them...maybe I will.

Now that we've completely highjacked this thread...Smile

This is a great idea, but the problem is that there is no "between" Ohio and PA Speedweeks.  Ohio's Speedweek was moved to earlier in the calendar many years ago because PA started their Speedweek and ran at the exact same time - over the Fourth of July time frame.  These days there is still some overlap for the end of Ohio Speedweek and the beginning of PA Speedweek, maybe 2-3 races.  There are always a few teams that run both Speedweeks, and it's not unusual to seem them skip the end of Ohio to pick up the start of PA.

Yeah I know about the overlap, should've specified if the speed weeks can cooperate or maybe after PA Speedweek...still think it has potential to be a good show-OH vs PA at Lernerville which is probably about half way for both OH and Posse and can be billed as "neutral turf."

All the scheduling issues could be worked out if tracks, etc, wanted it to happen. It would be a fun race & I guar-an-tee it would provoke lots of debate & BS on Hoseheads!

Just go ahead & suggest it, whats to lose? (oh right, they'd tell you to sponsor it wink )

Look for Williams Grove, Lincoln, and Port Royal all to have two shows and Hagerstown to remain on Wednesday.

With Lincoln already announcing their move to Monday, my thought process is Susquehanna would have likely announced already if they were on the schedule. And if I'm not mistaken, didn't the Plessingers run Hagerstown Speedweek show, not the weekly promoter?

And logistically it makes sense for Lincoln to have their shows close together and Port's shows would be close together.

I'm not saying they aren't on the schedule, because I don't know, but if they are, I would have thought they would have announced it with their other dates announced.

I'd say the little fit he threw last season and then subsequently scheduling a show the Thursday night prior to the speedweek opener most likely cooked that goose and I can't say I blame anyone involved with speedweek. I think they probably would've got a show eventually but after that move, they didn't exactly help their cause. I knew that was a stupid move that would have future consequences the minute they announced it. I don't know if it's a contributing factor or not, but it's worth mentioning that Susky has been horrible at running an efficient program and the debacle at the Final Showdown was a total embarrassment. There was a lot that happened beyond their control but there was a lot of dicking around on their end that made a bad thing worse. Despite doing it several times, they still haven't figured out how to run time trials efficiently and considering that Speedweek shows all run time trials, that would be a problem. I love Susky and the money and time they've spent on improving the facility is a big plus so I'm rooting for them to succeed but there's a lot they need to do as far as procedures are concerned to keep the shows running more smoothly. If they ever do get a Speedweek show, I'll be one of the first people through the gate but I wouldn't hold my breath. If they really wanted to have a Speedweek show, they should've thought before they stuck their finger in the eye of the Speedweek committee last season.

What kind of "fit" was thrown?

i agree 100% with your comments on running a effeicient show.  Hopefully that wont happen again.

I agree  with  a lot that has been said  here regarding Pa  Speedweek . Yes , the speed of  the Susky program is somethng they have to work on  , but the bottom line is what is good for the driver's and fans for the speedweek agenda . IT'S SIMPLE ADD SUSQUEHANNA TO THE MIX FOR SPEEDWEEK ,and forget  about what was done or not done .Not all  tracks need to run double programs , don't let greed interfere even though some want to score  double financial success .

I think it will be a mistake if Port Royal & Lincoln each run two shows during Speed Week. It makes sense for Williams Grove to start off Speed Week, but the whole lure of a "speed week" is to let the fans see different tracks. The second time around takes away some of the excitement in my opinion. I truely hope Susquehanna is included despite their past problems. I can almost guarantee the crowds will be off for both Port Royal & Lincoln on their second date if true.
