Right now. They are at Ray Skinners in southwest Ohio. He owned the Skinner Demolition #1s that Kevin Huntley drove in the early 90's. When the camera panned around his scrap yard you could see an old sprint car chassis & body, yellow, red & blue. Has to be the same guy.

I never watch tv but I know Ray. Some of the stories about them are crazy and it's hard to believe he let them in.

Funny you say that, I was watching it last night and Mike was digging in a old shed that the man said there was an old Indian with a side car buried under all the junk. One of the things Mike pulled off of the pile while looking for it looked kind of like an old Top Wing! No paint just plain aluminum.. I'll have to watch it again and see if it was a wing.

Yes.

Yep, that was them. I remember they used a full semi tractor & box trailer to haul the car and needed big ass ramps to get it up into the trailer. Smile

I'll take your word for it on that being Pup's former car owner. The "Mary" on the 2nd segment of that show was a very weird humanoid.....

The 2nd time the camera panned the scrap yard you could see the sprint car chassis again and you could just barely make out 'Kevin Huntley' on the side of the hood.

I watched it but missed the sprint car stuff. Recorded it but already erased it

Amazing that he could afford to sponsor a sprint car team, when he admitted that he couldn't read or write!

American Pickers:  If you have not seen the story about this popular show, it's not just them driving down the highway in a big van.  It's a caravan of 10 to 11 vehicles, at least two are Penske rental trucks which the stuff they buy is carried in.  Shows them putting their purchases in a van, then the cameras are gone and it's taken out bvy a crew and placed in these rental trucks.  Two, sometimes three motor homes are used to travel in, the Pickers and the camera crew/tv writers,etc.. Prior to the tv show, yes they did it all them selves.  Now they travel with the tv crew, most words are scripted and read from cardboard poster board much like Leno or Kimmel or whoever's monologue  Whenever you see them standing in front of a bunch of tall trees and bushes, thats where they film the scripted info they read and give us.  Yeah, they have it tough, all that sweating and working.  I used to like the show, always DVRd it, even re-runs but like a lot of tv, a lot of phony things taking place.

funny, i was watching the re-run last night, and remembered this post, the top wing was in that old shed with the string tensioner gauge, the sprintcar chassis and partial body are on top of one of the little storage sheds that are lined up, the little woman always asks? how do you always see that stuff?

I finally saw the unpainted top wing watching the re-run last night. Just in front of it you could see a red & yellow hood.
