Double-Header This Weekend for Inaugural SSO Season Finale!

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – September 21, 2016 - The inaugural season for the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car Series comes to a close in a huge way this weekend as it will be a double-header of races that will tell the tale of the point championship and quite possibly IMCA Sprint Car national championship.

It all kicks off this coming Friday night at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore in a makeup event that was rained out the previous Friday night (September 16).  Then tour will then travel to Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada on Saturday night and will wrap up the 2016-point season for SSO.

This will be the fourth and final event at Southern Oklahoma Speedway where John Carney II (April 15), Michelle Melton (May 20) and Chad Wilson (June 17) have visited SSO victory lane during the tracks “Fast 5 Friday” events this season. The first event saw a twenty car field while the May 20th event garnered 26 cars pit side. The final event saw a total of thirty-four drivers compete.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a special 8:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission is just $20 for adults ages 12 and up; kids ages six through twelve just 15 and all pit passes $35.

Southern Oklahoma Speedway is located off of I-35 to exit 29, then east on Hwy 70 approximately 0.7 mile, then south on Hwy 77 two miles. Then on Saturday night the tour will close out the 2016-point season at Oklahoma Sports Park and their second appearance of the season. It is where Joe Wood, Jr., currently second in SSO point standings, picked up his one and only victory on the season where thirteen cars competed.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with race action slated for a 7:30 PM start time. Adult general admission is $15; ages eleven through fifteen $13 and ages ten and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free.
