SPRINT CAR SUPERSTARS ENTER BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS 360 SHOW! 

(Perris, CA, October 21, 2014)  The early entries are in for the 360-portion of the 19^th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals Presented by All-Coast Construction on November 6^th and to say the least, it will be a show fans will not want to miss.  The prelude to the 410 portion of the Oval Nationals on November 7^th and 8^th, open wheel racing stars are prevalent throughout the first 33 entries in the 360 field.  

The winner of the 360 main event will take home $2,500.00 and that has drawn the attention of top stars from California, Arizona and Indiana. 

“What a super field we have for the 360 Budweiser Oval Nationals this year,” promoter Don Kazarian said on Tuesday afternoon.  “The winner will take home $2,500.00 and that is a great payday for 360’s.  That is obvious by the top stars who have already entered the race this year.  Mike Spencer is the defending champion and he will have to be on his game again to win this one.  Last year the 360 race was fabulous and I expect the same on November 6^th. 

Three of the entries, Jon Stanbrough of Avon, Indiana, Kevin Thomas Jr. of Cullman, Alabama and two-time defending USAC National Sprint Car champ Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Indiana have all entered the prestigious race and are currently ranked in the top 12 in USAC points.  Laveen, Arizona’s R.J. Johnson, the defending champ and current point leader in the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series, and multi-time Arizona area champion Charles Davis Jr. of Buckeye, Arizona, head the list of entries from the Copper State. 

Heading the contingent from Central and Northern California will be 2014 USAC Western Classic Champion Ryan Bernal of Hollister, 2013 USAC West Coast Champion Danny Faria Jr. of Tipton, Landon Hearst of Riverdale and Colby Copeland of Roseville. 

All of the visiting drivers will have to put up with a fierce group of PAS locals who plan on ferociously defending their local turf.  Included in The PAS delegation is Spencer of Temecula, the defending race champ and 5-time USAC/CRA champion.  Matt Mitchell of Orange, who leads the USAC West Coast Series standings, Huntington Beach driver Brody Roa, who is getting married this weekend, twins Richard and Jace Vander Weerd of Visalia and past USAC/CRA rookie of the year Jake Swanson of Anaheim.  

The 410’s will take over the action on November 7^th and 8^th and will be joined by The PAS Senior Sprints both of those night.  The California Lightning Sprint Cars will be in action on the 7^th as well.

Great field of cars !!!  Any time you can get 32 cars or more for a 1 nite show it's gonna be good.  4  heats of 8 .. a semi main  and a main is gonna be a full nite of sprint car racing. Any more and its gravy.  Looking forward to it.  3 nite ticket package for me is all I need for non wing sprint car racing at the Ovals. Im stoked!!!!!

Thanks much, Scott. Anybody =else= think Matt Mitchell and R. J. Johnson are the favorites here, given 1) their familiarity with Perris, and 2) their strength in the WC & AZ 360s this past year? Or that Kevin Thomas and Rich Vander Weerd would be the next in line? Then maybe Manzanita veterans Charles Davis & Josh Pelkey, Danny Faria (=decades= of experience in 360s on a track almost as big as Perris), Ryan Bernal, Marcus Niemela and Brody Roa? Most of the other guys have never seen a track as big as Perris, let alone gotten accustomed to it. Nevertheless, those of you who haven't seen 360s will see a fine show with the best AZ and CenCal drivers. Let's hope for 40 cars by post time (with =Bud= in =something=). And... where's Dennis Howell of Palos Verdes (a WC 360 main event winner this year)? 

Saw Chris Wakim on Saturday at Ventura, he mumbled something about "Tuning up for the Ovals" through his helmet at me.

Raj: As far as favorites, it would be hard to go past Ryan Bernal. He has been real consistent this season. Jake Swanson and Brody Roa are two I would also keep an eye on. But, there are some really great drivers in there. Landon Hurst is a hard charger. Stanbrough, Thomas Jr and Clauson are also not to be ruled out. Spencer has to be odds on favorite, but I do not see him entered as of yet.

Bottom line...

This 360 show should be awesome. And once again shut 410 snobs face holes! (Sorry Rob!)

Actually it was Mike who won it in the #7 car last year.  Then Cory drove it in the 410 portion of the show.

Put Dave Darland in  the 360 field in the #4g.  Also, add Jon Kairot to the field in the 360's.

In the 410's add, Landon Hurst.

Is the 4g one of the Gansen rides? If so, my (would be) oddsmaking is out the window. 

Does anyone know what car Hurst will be driving?

Among the latest entries for the 360 portion of the Oval Nationals on November 6th are Christopher Bell, Robert Ballou and last week Dave Darland.  Right now, showing 36 cars.  May get to or pass 40 on race night.

Its to bad the PR Flak for "Jimmies" won't be there
