So we all know this car, we've pretty much been aware of it from a nationals scene since Justin Henderson took it into victory lane on the Friday night qualifier event at Knoxville a couple years ago. Then the rumors as Henderson leaves after the season. Story I heard was crew chief didn't like Henderson's girlfriend around the pit area. (Don't care or know how even remotely close to true that is)
Then the next season there was the hiring of Lucas Wolfe, and then 2 months later he was out of the ride after a short transition period. This looked like a pure move based off of results. Although I personally thought Wolfe was doing fine in the car considering the change.
Clint Garner was in the car for a weekend at Knoxville. Jason Solwold took over the car for a short time and then they did what I thought was great. They gave a local kid a shot who hadn't gotten one before. Scott Winters ran the car pretty good to end out the season considering his lack of 410 experience and traveling experience. Scott had then decided to back away, citing that he could not committ to the team in the manner in which was needed to travel as much as they wanted to. (Basically, he decided not to quit his day job for car he was only in for a few months)
Which led to the BWW car rolling through a bunch of drivers to end the season, some of which we have seen backin the seat this season.
Over the Silly Season we all were interested in who was going to get this ride. It's an interesting situation that has rumors around it every time a guy left. Which lead to ibracn.com to get a statement from BWW saying that they were going to use multiple drivers in the season and were going to choose this based upon track location and driver availability.
Now I thought this was interesting and it made sense. Take guys you know have a good track record at certain tracks and put them in our car instead of taking a driver and trying to figure everything out on the fly. As long as the driver has a clue how to set a car up for himself then this could theoretically work. I only see one flaw in this. They've been going to the same tracks, with different drivers. Grand Forks, Knoxville, Husets. This may just be because the traveling groups aren't close enough to South Dakota to justify traveling or they are still trying to find a full-time driver.
I have wrote a lot more than I intended. But ultimately I started this post to kind of keep a running track of who has been in the car throughout the season. We've all heard rumors that the crew chief is hard to get along with. I don't know the accuracy of this, but if it is that ownership has decided that the crew chief is their guy and they aren't hooked to a driver then whats the difference then ownership picking a driver and shuffling through crew chiefs before they find a working combination. As fans we know different drivers are going through the car, becuase their name is listed next to it every night.

They've stated they are not looking for a permanent driver. Leave it at that and be happy they are fielding a team with strong equipment nonetheless.

Im sure every driver that steps into it is a possible "permenant" driver. They just aren't publicly saying it. Im fine with what they are doing, I think it's interesting but it's may and they've let 6 drivers in the car already, I just wanted to start keeping track is all. At the very least these drivers are each trying to get in the car for the Nationals and the team is going to have to make a decision or field 7 cars like a chili bowl team.
Crockett ran last night, runs tonight at Kville and probably Husets as well

Crockett drove the car at Wheatland, MO. last year at the Jesse Hockett Daniel Mcmillian memorial race.

Back in the 60's my cousin owned a Sprint Car and my uncle helped out. Their philosophy was something along the lines of "I'll let you drive it this week and if you don't bend my shit maybe you'll be in it next week too". A few of the drivers that subbed in their car from time to time included Jerry Richert Sr., Scratch and Itch Daniels and Roger Rager so the guys sitting in the seat weren't slouches. I guess on account of that I'm probably as big of a fan of the machinery as I am of the personalities that sit behind the wheel.
My point as it relates to the BWW car is that it's the owner's money so they can do whatever they please and who am I to criticize them? I've known Kent Winters and his son Scott for a number of years so yeah, I could come up with some ideas how the owner should spend his money but I'd be nothing more than an armchair quarterback.
Maybe my outlook has something to do with having been around for more decades than I care to admit but these days I just sit back and enjoy the experience of being at the races. If a person watches this sport long enough they're going to see good ones and bad ones, driver changes, owners and drivers getting in and out of the sport, tracks opening and closing. It's all a part of the big picture which can be described in these words, "don't bend my shit!"

Everyone's taking this as me knocking what they are doing. I am not, it's an interesting approach, I just kind of wanted to keep a tally of who all ends up in the car at season's end.
Gravel was in it last season

Roger Crockett finished 16th tonight at Knoxville. This says more about how tough Knoxville is this season than it does about the BWW approach. Im a huge Crockett fan, and I think if he was in this ride till august he'd make the show. But I also think that every driver that has been in the car this season can make the A-main at Knoxville in august. Says more about the car and the crew chief than it does about the driver. Glad Roger got to drive it this week and hope he's back in it soon.
FYI, huge fan of Scott Winters too, watched his dad race while I was growing up.
I'm glad this ride exists and it is really cool to see different drivers at Knoxville that we wouldnt typically see in april, june.
I just hope it works out for them in August. I honestly think they need to make a decision sometime in July in who gets that ride for the Nationals. 10 gs to start the race, it is a big deal
PA posse fans can say what they want. 10 gs be in the top 24 for the Knoxville Nationals. how many times does PA pay 10 grand?
Sprint Car Capitol of the world for a reason.
I've been to Lincoln and the Grove, loved them, but really, this season your Posse has nothing on the Knoxville Regulars

If you need a list,
Ian Madsen, Terry McCarl, Danny Lasoski, Craig Dollansky, Justin Henderson, Brian Brown, Mark Dobmeir, Davey Heskin, Dusty Zomer, Don Droud Jr, Brooke Tatnell, Lynton Jeffries, Wayne Johnson, Jason Johnson, Bronson Maeschen, Clint Garner.
plus this BWW 82 car we are talking about
Your list isn't that long or deep

Ford97, how do you consider this team a midpack team considering several drivers in that list have finshed top 5 many times and Henderson, McCarl, Winters and a few others have got feature wins in that car with the same crew chief.
The owners stated many years ago that they will bring in the driver that they feel is best for the team and a certain series. No Driver has been fired from the BWW #82 car when they are hired they know that it is not a full time ride. So everyone that is upset about all the drivers in and out or even if you are keeping a running tally of how many drivers that are in the car, EVERY DRIVE HIRED know its not a full time ride. And Every driver knows what type a crew chief Craig McCormick is and what he expects it is nice to know all you experts know exactly how each driver feels about the ride and how they feel about being replaced. Why not come up with a million bucks and offer to sponser the car or maybe buy a car of your own and see if you can do what the BWW car and crew chief have accomplished in the past 5 years

It's considered a mid pack team due to it mostly finishing mid pack with their current game plan. McCarl has never been this car. The crew chiefs name is Greg, not Craig, and yes he is a special one. Pretty sure we can all agree Lucas and Solwald were fired, you don't make t-shirts if you know it's a "short term ride". This is the the 4th year for this BWW team, started with Brian Dobesh in the summer of 2011, prior to that the owners were big supporters of Loren Langerud in the early to mid 2000's. Any my other brain busters for ya?
Personally, I am very happy to have a team of this caliber right in my back yard, and I like to eat at BWW, I just wish they would get ride of the crew cheif and hire a good driver and keep them around for more than a weekend. I feel they could do great things.

Great thing about America, anyone can spend their money how they want and others can complain about it. Maybe another angle to this?
Lets say the owners are family or friends of this crew chief everyone thinks that should go. Also, if swapping crew chiefs to match a driver, you will end up swapping stuff around and getting less out of equipment. You can say what you want about him, but the car is always ready to go, clean and no failures, very thourogh.
This isn't standing up for him although it may sound like it, never really talked to him. Have spoken to a person that drove that car and he didn't have anything bad to say about him or the operation.

Neverhard, you are the expert on stupid as you have to look in the mirror every stinking day of your pathetic existence. Ford, I'll take your comments as compliments because you are a pro at being a dickhead. You, sir, are truely the best at it.
There is nothing more dangerous in racing than uninformed bleacher creatures that think they know something in this sport.
