Hey Guys, what fuels do you guys use? I know VP has a ton of options in terms of race fuel (Q16, C9 etc.) I want to know what you guys use? I know Sunoco also makes excellent race fuels, but I myself am not very familiar with theirs.

Thanks,
Kenny

Whatever methanol the vendor at that particular racetrack is selling..

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

What all would have to be changed on a sprint or midget to switch from one to the other? I know with like modifieds or late models you have to change the fuel pump and carbs, but typically sprints/midgets don't have carbs. Taking it a step further, if I'm not mistaken silver crown runs ethanol now, is that a straight forward transition? Just curious.

the fuel cell bladder is not compatable and sprints dont have enough radiator to cool on gas

methanol is cheaper per gallon, but you use almost twice as much as gas. so the over all cost is not much cheaper, if at all.

also methanol is much safer, as it isn't as explosive as gas and it can be extinguished with water.

methanol is also more environmentally friendly

methanol is also inherently more powerful than gas, but that is compared to regular automotive gas.

you can find high performance racing gas that is comparable to methanol, but the methanol has a much higher natural octane rating. the racing gas has to be blended to raise the octane.

methanol is also a bit more forgiving as far as tuning. you have to be more exact with gas.

big fiasco about the crown cars on ethanol. a lot of guys parked their cars cause of it. ethanol is now "optional" for the 2013 season

the "politically correct" introduction of ethanol as an alternative to gas is the biggest joke i have ever seen. it is a load of crap being perpetuated on the american people. the government is calling for cars that get more and more MPG, yet as soon as you add ethanol, the MPG falls. E85 gets you 20% LESS MPG than gas. and even if it costs the same per gallon, you have to buy 20% more, so your fuel bill goes up 20%. straight ethanol for street cars doesn't work because of the propensity for moisture absorption in storage and in cold wet weather, among other draw backs including half the MPG.

so are electric cars. we are told our electric grid can't supply our current needs and we have black outs and usage slow downs, but then we are expected to all plug in cars every night? when they come up with an electric car that can recharge while it drives, they will have my interest. i'm not the smartest, so i still wonder how a generating system can not be connected to each wheel to help charge the thing as it drives. show me an electric car that we can use for commute purposes, that regenerates its own energy and i will listen. so far they are still trying to push something on me that i have to purchase some kind of fuel to make it go.

i am all for a reasonable, affordable alternative fuel. so far, i haven't seen it.

ok, i'm done bitch'in!
