$1000 to win for Sport Mods Highlight Enid Speedway Memorial Sunday Night!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma - May 20, 2012 – This Memorial Sunday Night features yet another night of racing action atop the Garfield County Fairgrounds as Speedway's Inc. presents the "Bob Howard PDC and Mopar Memorial Weekend" of racing highlighted by the $1000 to win for southern sport modified division at Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma. National Championship Racing Association rules apply for this huge southern sport modified event however it will not be a sanctioned event.

The originally scheduled Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) sprint car event that was scheduled for this event was rescheduled. With work still being done on the track's lighting system and not being able to assure OCRS officials and teams the tracks lighting system would be ready to go, track officials and OCRS officials have ppd. this sprint car event to a later date to be announced.

Gates will open at 3:00 pm with racing action set for a 5:05 pm start time. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for ages 6-10.

Enid Speedway is located 2.5 miles north of U.S. Hwy. 412 on U.S. Hwy. 81, then 0.5 mile east on West Oxford (at the Garfield County Fairgrounds).

Race and ticket information can be obtained by contacting Speedways Inc. (316) 755-1781. You can also check out their online website www.enidspeedway.org.

How in the hell do they cancel one series and turn right around and run another series? Are you telling us that the same issues that made them cancel ocrs are not issues to these cars?

Timo, where do you see that a series is racing at Enid Speedway this weekend? I see it as "non-sanctioned" event. This is the same deal that has been run at the previous show, starting at 5:05 pm. If there was a problem with the series or vice versa then there wouldn't be a rescheduled date TBA.

If you have any questions or problems with this then call (316) 755-1781 and they will answer your quesiton for you.

cnraracing, I am not sure. I won't be home from work until around 3 pm Monday so if you need to know asap then you might call Speedway's Inc. (316) 755-1781. If you haven't found out or if it is not posted I will try to have that information for all of you Monday evening.

Even though it does say "NCRA rules apply", thank you for your question - a good one by the way.

apples and oranges david, i mean come on now. by series i just meant another class like the sport mods. i find it extremely hard to believe that even starting at 5.05 that 4 classes of cars are going to be done before dark if they are having issues with the lights. sanction or not really has nothing to do with it.

What the hell ever happened to day races anyway? Loved doing those they need to return. Nothing like a suntan while watching sprints race.

Timo, I don't know the real reason for the cancelling of the OCRS, but one issue as far as time goes is that the sprints have to be push started and it does take more time.
