There is a question of if Spencer took the initial green. He changed his motor between the B and A and he didnt appear to take the initial green, but rejoined when there was red on the initial start for Perovich. Anyone confirm if he did or didnt take the initial green?

Spencer did not take the initial green. The pole sitter flipped in turn 2 and collected a bunch of cars after the green flag waved. Since no laps were completed, Spencer tagged the back of the field in a double file restart.

Why was Bernal not given a chance to get his tire changed and get back on the track in time? Guess the CRA guys only look out for their own.

There' been plenty of rimes that CRA has not given "thrie own" time to change a tire and not let that car bump off again.

Watching Spencer and Mitchell work their way through the field was exciting and impressive. Hope to see another great show tonight.

I would be more impressed if he took the original green..not sure of the cra rules..but most associations do NOT allow that...

I was wondering the same thing. I am guessing it had to do with the fact they were 7 laps into a 30 lap feature with 15 minutes till curfew. The track is currently embroiled in a fight with a neighbor who is tring to shut them down (see oceanspeedway.com for details) so I'd have to assume blowing curfew is NOT an option. It sucked for Bernal, but, I'm sure everyone would have been pissed if the show was cut short.

The race ended 30 minutes before curfew. Chavez did try to start the race and was not allowed to.

USAC Rule book states this :#1307 line 8 : A car unable to start the race that is later red flagged can enter restart line up at rear of field. Now this is from the USAC Western States & CRA PDF on there website.

Isn't the Watsonville cufew 10:30? If it's not, then I'd say Bernal got hosed.

ONCE THE ORIGINAL GREEN FLAG HAS BEEN GIVIN ,, NO CARS CAN BE PUSHED OFF 'UNLESS THERE IS A YELLOW OR RED FLAG THAT HAS BEEN DISPLAYED ,, IN THIS CASE THE FIRST LAP WAS NOT COMPLETED 'RED' FLAG, THEREFORE A CAR CAN BE PUSHED OFF THAT DID NOT TAKE THE ORIGINAL GREEN FLAG ,,,,BUT MUST START AT THE BACK OF THE FIELD FOR NOT ANSWERING THE STARTERS CALL FOR THE ORIGINAL GREEN FLAG..........ZZ
