Just what we need another series to spread the cars even thinner. Great idea. Thought I was the Rookie promoter. Good luck!

Sorry "promoter". I thought I was worrying about my track. I went to Reno and put a CRA show on my schedule like other tracks (at regular price) and now there may be another option to run. So my car count could suffer. That's all my point was. Be glad to discuss with ya. My # , email and name are listed below as always. Hope it all works out for ya.

Would be interesting if the 'Promoter' chose not to join the old boy's club....thought outside the box..and maybe did'nt fall in the same downward spiral of higher and higher pitpasses-lower purses

That's exactly what So. Cal need's ! ! There is nowhere else for non-wing 410 Sprint Car's to run on off night's for CRA. If Querco can put up a decent purse they will show too. By the way how much will it pay to win/start ?

Yeah, my question exactly. How big is the carrot to tow up to the high desert and race.

Race 88....We are working on it!!! We want to try to do what's right for the Racer and Fans...We are still trying to figure out the landscape of what we can do purse wise and still have a good Show...We are limited because, like most Tracks that have their own Food and Beer....We don't!!!!!....We don't plan to run Dates against USAC/CRA......We are just trying to come up with our own Program that does not go against the local Tracks....I guess the only good thing is we don't need to make a living off the Track!! We would be very happy to just break even and build the 410 Sprint Car Shows......Give us some time!!! We will figure it out!!! And we are open to suggestions!!!! Our Goal is to have a Points series with Points fund for the 410's......

If you don't have to make a living off the track, why not reconsider your position on the CRA/USAC races?
As a Fan I really enjoyed the fast moving, no support classes, EVENT you provided for us. I've talked to
many fans who didn't make the first show that said they would not miss the next one. Please reconsider.
I see nothing wrong with starting your own 410 series on off CRA nights, especially if you bring back CRA/USAC.
Thanks,
Don

Ok so let me get this straight. According to the other thread on here we discovered that this V-Ville "promoter" as he calls himself wasn't telling everyone the whole "truth". He pisses and moans about not being treated fairly when in reality it was he apparently that was the one acting in an unsavory fashion. Now he gets on here to announce he is going to host unsanctioned 410 races and we are supposed to believer that this is all with good intentions. Well will the insurance be the same level as USAC for the racers and crews? Will the purse be the same? If the answer is no to both of these questions the racers should not support him. If you give your product away for less than what you should get don't expect to see anything but small purses and dwindling car counts. Some of you need to see beyond your obsurd hatred for all things USAC and realize this "promoter" is not being totally honest here and that's NOT good for our sport. If he gets away with paying a smaller purse for 410s why won't every track try the same shit? Racers you need to think long and hard about who, where and why you support racetracks. You deserve nothing less than what usac gives you for insurance and purse. My two cents...this isn't a good move in my opinion.
Cheers!

you talking about the insurance you pay for when you join and the purse that was just reduced despite the fact Perris only pays a portion according to Chris Kearns....btw racers who race for a living have their own seperate policy cause USAC's policy is not valid at non sanctioned events or practice

Ok so let me get this straight. According to the other thread on here we discovered that this V-Ville "promoter" as he calls himself (I think doing over 50 events a year gives me that right lol) wasn't telling everyone the whole "truth". ( Who said that! only Kevin and I know what was said in our 1st conversation) He pisses and moans about not being treated fairly when in reality it was he apparently that was the one acting in an unsavory fashion. Once again wrong sir, I just asked what was up!!! We are over it, if we could have the same arrangement as our 1st Race we would do 3 or 4 more events no problem. Call it a lack of communication, or a misunderstanding that is over and done with. Now he gets on here to announce he is going to host unsanctioned 410 races and we are supposed to believer that this is all with good intentions. All we are doing is offering up our Track as a Track Pro-410's, and a place to Race when there is No other 410 Shows, what's wrong with that! Well will the insurance be the same level as USAC for the racers and crews? Will the purse be the same? If the answer is no to both of these questions the racers should not support him. It is certainly the Racers and fans choice. We are just making it a option, and a place to Race...better than nothing. No, we can't pay the Purse USAC pays, as we are a small Track trying to develop a Program.....If you give your product away for less than what you should get don't expect to see anything but small purses and dwindling car counts. The same thing happens when you don't have places to Race. Some of you need to see beyond your obsurd hatred for all things USAC and realize this "promoter" is not being totally honest here How in the world are we being dishonest!!! If anything, we are being way too honest, and spending the time to answer questions and concerns. and that's NOT good for our sport. I think a guy that puts his balls on the line, to give Racers a place to Race is good for Motorsports. We don't need to lose anymore Tracks, and this one was going close down!!! If he gets away with paying a smaller purse for 410s why won't every track try the same shit? Every Track is different...Some get a lot of additional ancillary income (Food and Beer) and can pay more. When we build a solid Fan Base, we can do that too. Racers and Owners are very smart people, they know what Tracks make money!. Racers you need to think long and hard about who, where and why you support racetracks. You deserve nothing less than what usac gives you for insurance and purse. My two cents...this isn't a good move in my opinion. You have every right to your opinion. USAC does a great job, and it is a Spectacular Show, but there is still a need for Race Tracks willing to run certain classes....
I am sure you never heard of a little Drag Strip in the SF. Valley named San Fernando Drag Strip. In the 60's...It was in the shadow of Lions Drag Strip, Irwindale Drag Strip, Fontana, etc. But they were open every Sunday afternoon to run who ever wanted to show up and Race, after the Big Shows at Lions etc....Believe it or not, guys like the "Snake", Warren, Coburn and Miller, "Wild Willie" with his fuel altered", Walt Stevens and other great Racers would show up, hone their skills, and have a fun time Racing.....My point is, at least they had a place to Race!!!! Sure was a lot better time back then, than seeing a Race Tracks turned into a Parking lot!!!!

So on the surface I don't see what people are bitching about here. If Victorville wants to hold open 410 shows I don't see what the problem is, especially if they don't conflict with the established USAC/CRA schedule. If the racers want to go they will go. If not, they won't. I've heard that Victorville is a racy little track and God knows there aren't enough dirt tracks in Southern California these days. With the reduced number of dates at Perris, pickings are getting pretty thin if you want to go see the 410s. As for Hanford, they are hosting a ASCS winged 360 show. My guess is that the guys that would normally run that show are still going to run it rather than drive hours to run a 360 at a wingless 410 show. I would seriously doubt that any of the 410 guys were planning on running the ASCS show so there's no negative there. As for fans, if someone lives in the central valley and has an ASCS race within an hour of them they'll probably go there rather than make the haul over the hill to Victorville. The Victorville race will draw locals and people who would normally go to Perris, neither of whom are likely to drive 3 hours to see the show at Hanford unless they are die hard ASCS fans, in which case they'll make the drive anyway.

Ouch. I think most of us Promoters work pretty well together here in California and Arizona. I consider all the Promoters I know, my friends. Woodhouse, Faria, Naylor, Schweitzer, Kazarian, Soares, Montgomery, Lyons, Handy, Prentice, etc. We even help each other out on occasion. We may not always agree with each other, but we get along! I dont think "Promoter" is off to a very good start.

Scott, I dont think Steve is going to be doing Jager Bombs with all of us in Reno! lol

USAC CRA Payout...about 6 pages back..sprintfanjim....recall..you posted that the full purse would be paid the upcoming race...but you didn't say the post was incorrect and when did the underwrighter usac uses agree to cover a racer anytime any track even at events non usac sanctioned or at practice...if I'm incorrect,I'm happy.better for the racers

Wow Chris...Pretty amazing, I make a post about a Show we are doing this week, and I am lucky enough to have you read it!!! "Kinda like Deniero and the Fockers...I' am watching you" Love that movie!!! Anyhow as Scott suggested in his post he listed his phone number.....So guess what!!!! I called him!!! Seems like a real nice guy! There is even a chance I may even bring him one of my other Shows!!! We might have a drink before Reno! (lol).....Chris, you don't know me dude...John Force and I came up together...I was his 1st Promoter/Marketing guy...We stood on corners together selling Wendy's Hamburgers to get enough money to go Racing....Our love is Racing....We both came from the streets!!!!
When you can fill a 15,000 arena with a bunch of Monster Trucks going woop woop over cars (lol) or take a Band "Motley Crue" and turn them into a Super Star Rock band, then you can try to discredit me!!!!! I go by results!!!! Just Google our background!!! And remember!!! You came on my tread with the comment!!!!!!
