My 3 year contract was up this year at Dodge City.

I decided about a week ago to not send in a proposal to operate that track again.

I was away from my own business from April thru mid October every year and besides that it seemed now that I am thinking back that I know I was working on Dodge City Raceway Park way more than I was my own company.

Today at 5 o'clock the bids for the track are supposed to be in............. I did not fill one out.

This means nothing more than I will stay at my own home and office here in Bridgeport, Texas which is about 24 miles from Texas Motor Speedway. I already moved out of the Dodge City house and have most everything out of the race track that is mine. Some of the stuff is already in Enid, more will be moved there so we can operate Enid next year. I have a lighter load on my back and it is good to be back home. I had been living in Dodge from late April thru race season and then I would move back here to Texas..........now I will stay.

I will miss my friends and racers and sponsors in Dodge City but it is time for me to be home.

Immediate plans are to take care of my own company check it out here http://www.checkeredflagproductions.com/

Race track plans are to run Enid probably once a month or maybe more but no more than 6 or 7 times a year.

Soon I hope to work with area tracks to get our rules together and also scheduling of races.

Seeya in Enid!

Ed, I can appreciate you desire to be home. I for one wish to thank you for all of your efforts. You did a fantastic job at Dodge City and we need people like you to support our habit of dirt track racing. I also agree 100% that all tracks in our region should play by the the same rules, this would in the long run benefit all tracks and all racers. This ole business of "these is are (our) rules" is killing our sport.

Local racers do not have the money or backing to field multiple cars to increase car counts at all of the tracks operating under different rules. How hard is it to figure out, same rules for all classes. I know this will be difficult since we currently have so many different / similar classes across the state and people have spent their hard earned monies to build their race cars to race at their local track under Track Rules.

How can I say this in a nice way... Guess I can't, all of you promoters need to pull your out ....and look / see what is happening. Race Tracks are closing and being torn down left and right, do you not think unified rules would help our cause. It's time to start working together.
