Are you freaking kidding me? Spend the money that you would spend doing that and put it towards a damn dirt track racing complex that you took from us. Unfauckinbelievable

Do you have the link, David?

It was the lead story on news9. Can catch it around 10:30 on channel 53. Seems ole Mick went to Long Beach where he saw 200,000 people in attendance, talked to an advisory board who was looking into a dirt track facility here, and is now looking at a Grand Prix of OKC through the streets of Bricktown.

Think he better talk to the people of Houston because they no longer have the Grand Prix because the tires and such tore up the streets of Houston so they don't hold it any longer.
Now I would think that a proposal, complete with plans and ideas (promotional, events, racing, special races, etc.) needs to be drawn up and presented to Ole Mick if he really is serious about a racing venue. Might not hurt to get fellow person Norrick involved as well.
Was told I better watch what I say about people and in this instance I guess so. If they are serious about looking into a racing deal then a racing complex would be better than a Grand Prix of OKC - which would only take place once a year IF successfull.

As they say in racing, maybe the "Wheels are starting to turn." Any takers on getting plans drawn and presented? If so, I want in. Can't hurt you know.

Don't you think Norick is behind this in some way, with his sons racing background? I' m going to start converting my sprint car into a gran prix car so we can have some local cars involved. Shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 million. The city can give away tickets to ensure a sell out, like they do for the Redhawks. Maybe they can run through the streets of Galardia instead of downtown.

I would say Norick would be behind this as I am sure he would have a vested interest in this happening. Seemed Ole Mick is/was ademit about a dirt track on I-40 and Cimmaron Rd., would be interesting to see who does own the city land out that way. After all, I believe Norick owns the land that will soon be a walk in the park.
Maybe if a grand prix does come it will lose control and wipe out what they have invested.

I think that if they do this - we should catch a bunch of birds and then hop them up on LSD and laxatives and release them on Bricktown during the Grand Prix. Flying little kamikaze shitbombs!!!
lol. to me its a good plan - and funny as well.

This is a bunch of crap. Nobody cares about that crap. we have been putting all the time and effort behind saving our dirt track and then they come up with this crap. What a joke. They would have a better chance for a NASCAR track...idots!! Thats all we need is a bunch of race cars tearing up our streete even more. By the way good to see everyone, it's been awhile since I've been on here

Ron Norick has no involvement in racing anymore on a personal level. His son Lance has a ASCS car he bought last year from Randy Hannigan. The property at C.E. Page airport is owned by the city, not a individual.

The local media idiots don't know the difference between Formula One and the IRL. I can see our mayor dealing with F-1.....he'd do better dealing with the Somali pirates than with Ecclestone and Co. Even an IRL race would be well over a million, probably considerably more, for one week. That's a steep price just for Mayor Mick to meet Danica. The bottom line, though, is we're talking Bricktown, and that makes it worth whatever it costs. Morons.

Hell Tricky Micky don't know what he wants... But we do know he don't want a dirt track and the money that comes with it.
I guess he thinks the City of OKC has millions to spend on a gamble even if it don't happen but we all know he will spend OUR MILLIONS as tax payers trying. But could not spend 4 or so million fixing SFS. Compared to what he will spend on this journey to make OKC the show capital of the Midwest with his race cars that will do 180mph in brick town that will really tear our streets all to hell... Give me a break... You are correct Galen they are all MORONS and the local media are a bunch of idoits.

I would like to see what their proposed route that the race course would be.
That fact that no Okla drivers would participate would be just totally ridiculous.
Meanwhile ,millions of dollars worth of modified & sprint car equipment is here now that cannot be used anywhere within 50 miles of OKC.
Mick Cornett, thanks for giving me more & more reasons to never do business in OKC unless absolutely, absolutely necessary. Never having to travel west of Sooner Rd sure saves a lot of gas.

If not for HOOTERS (which I need to stop because my belly is expanding too much) I wouldn't be spending any money in the OKC area.
