Joey Kuhn RIP................
After a stellar career at Silver Spring Speedway in the Super Sportsman division, Joey’s 410 Sprint Car career started in 1988, and he drove to his last win in 1994 before hanging up his helmet for good driving on the tough Central PA 410 Sprint Car circuit as a member of the PA Posse.
Kuhn and the 2K team won in every year they competed: 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994.
Joey spent his entire 410 Sprint Car career driving for Doc & Jodi Kronenberg, and the 2K team was not afraid to travel, which they did with success.
Career highlights include:
23 Career 410 Sprint Car wins
1992 Sharon Nationals All Stars Winner ($10,000.00)
1991 Susquehanna Speedway All Star Winner ($4,000.00)
1990 Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Nationals
1988 National Sprint Car Poll 410 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year
Joey also won at Port Royal (11 wins), Williams Grove (5 wins), Selinsgrove (3 wins), Path Valley (1 win), and another win at Sharon Speedway in 1990 ($3,000.00).
Kuhn won the first 410 Sprint Car race he finished at Williams Grove Speedway.
Joey was the original driving force and promoter of the highly successful Manufacturer's Appreciation Race that was later run by his good friend, the late Hank Gensler, and is now organized and ran by Hank's widow Denise.
RIP Joey, you were one of a kind and will never be forgotten!
