There was a incident at a track in the state last night where one car was packing the track and the others had pulled off. The owner was upset that his car was the direst one. He wanted the track management to do something about this. The issue was not resloved like the car owner had wished so the car got loaded up at it went home before the heats.

What does everyone think of this. I see it happen at SFS all the time. There are drivers that do not pack the track. But, they keep saying everyone has to pack the track over the speaker.

I have been to alot of tracks just a state or two away that packs the track for the racers. That may be an option but if its not then I say First offence not hot laps Second offence start in the back of the feature Third offence load the car. I personally think the track should pack it but I hate it when you see the sme ones over and over NOT packing. Also I feel if you are the previous year champion you should have the option to not pack, FLAME ON

I know at Enid they have a jeep that does it. But sometimes you run out of time and the wide tires on them race cars help alot and get it done so fast.

right on -

THEY SHOULD ALL HAVE TO PACK IT!!! I dont care about previosu winners/champs - every car there should get out there and pack it. Scraping a lil mud never hurt anybody.....

I think every one should get out there and make a few laps. Been a while since Ive ran in Enid but I thought they docked your pay $25 if you didnt get out there and make a few laps.

it has to be fair for everyone but it will be hard to accomplish because there is always that track favorite that doesnt have to pack.

If you want them all doing it, make it strict, no pack no race.... this would end the whole debate

At Brill's, you get 25 points for packing. But packing isn't optional there either.

Its nice when they pack the track for you but for all the guys that post on here you shouldnt have to pack if i was ur promoter i would say thats fine you can either race in mud all night or dust. I hate packing the track myself but i would much rather race on a nice packed in track than to race on rut'd up bullshit all the time. Just my 2 cents

That was just a ploy to get the cars out there and it still did'nt work. I do know that they would not let them hot lap if they did not help.

Hell I always made my few laps, so I really never knew if they actually did that or not. I believe I remember Ramer tellin me they docked him once for not makin a few laps. They said pack the track I ran at the top to get the least abit of mud on my car. I didnt like doing it, but it didnt bother me. No reason to even run hot laps if the tracked is not packed in. When its not packed in, it always makes for a rough track tearing up more crap.

I always wondered why some tracks had the drivers pack the track in the opposite direction.

I haven't seen that in years and wondered what the advantage to that was supposed to be ???

Ardmore still packs the track in the opposite direction , thats probably got somethin to do with bein one of the best surfaces in the state .

winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

No-pack, no-race sounds fair.

Have people keeping a list of who goes on track to pack. Enforce from there.

Is the frustration from this issue why Lanny kicked that car at Lawton 2-3 years ago? I know he has his favorites, that keeps him compromised, AND THAT keeps everybody loosely confused.

NO MATTER how you try to cut it, if you promote a show that involves racers, SOMEONE will ease his way into being enough of a favorite, and get away

with things nobody else can.

I know a yellow number one sprinter that very very rarely ever packs the track. Nice lookin stuff too. LOL I think having the push trucks do it would be a bad idea, need some cars with the wide tires. Everyone should help out. Nobody should be "too cool" for hotlaps. Except Larry Neighbors, he's even too cool for class. Wait, I should jump in one dem sum bitches and quit being a bleacher creature and turn into a girl. LOL

Everyone should pack the track. It's part of dirt track racing. If you don't want your car to get dirty don't race at a DIRT track. I say, (unless there is a mechanical issue) you don't pack you don't race.

Well I guess I made the Larry Neighbors Chirstmas card list lol. The announcement came to me via email. Somthing about a part of the male anatomy.

here is another I have no clue who you are talkin to?

or yet what it has to do with the topic.

as for the topic. WHy should a promoter let anyone get away with it? I know at lawton last year they were lettin previous winner not do it - but I dont get that either. I mean, isn't everyone gonna have to scrap mud like 3-4 times after that anyway.

And Jorski - Knoxville Raceway in Iowa does that too - and they have great races. I think others should catch on.

What are the alternatives to the racecars packin it? someone's got to pack it. In most cases and place s- its no very feasible to have the push trucks do it - there simply isn't enough. and like someone else said - it's not enough either. How bout they just say anyone with X type of vehicle (and tires) can come do a few laps! lol.

Thats it - they should have a driver appreciation night where the fans pack the track for em. That would actually be pretty cool. as long as we didn't let little protege's like mine out to cut the track up. I would bring my ol' man's F350 tho. it got big'ol tires!

seriously though - what all ways could this be done - and it remain fair for all the drivers?

Fan I think he was talking to me in both topics. Like I said though I guess I will be getting a Christmas card from him this year.
