There is more of course but the easiest ones for me to grab are in photo albums and, of course, they are not where I thought they would be. For now you'll have to settle for one of my all time favorite racing characters hot lapping the 5FB pictured coming off turn two at Silver Dollar Speedway:

also the 1990 - 1991 USA Sprint Champ. I believe he was also the 1991 Ascot champion and repeated in 1990 & 1991 with another couple Baylands Championships :-).....

It was quite a loss for fans of Wheelies, Flips, & Foto Finishes when Randi hung it up. You could ALWAYS count on him to be i forefront of off the wall ideas. Like the numbers he put on his cars!

4Q, and 5FB. I know what 5FB stood for but I'll give someone else the privilege of sharing that info with those of the forum that are still uninformed!

I'm not sure what year it was that Randi went to the Nationals and made the Feature. I only went to the Natls in '88 and '91 so it was one of those years. He came out of the B-main after racing Wolfgang hub-to-hub. I remember, they were locked together through the corners in an incredible duel. At the time I was thinking, Randi don't take the wolf over the fence with you! They both transferred to the A-main. At the time Randi was the counterman at Kaeding performance, which probably caused a little friction at work because BK has never been blessed by the Gods at the Nationals.

At the end of that night I talked to Randi and asked him if they had done something special to the car for Knoxville and he said they didn't do a thing to it. Just rolled off the trailer with the Baylands set-up.

Randi was involved in some of THE MOST bizarre incidents on the tracks of Cali. The flip at SJ when the push off lane cam onto the back stretch fromT-2. He started flipping in T-1, was off the racing surface about 25 ft in the air, higher than the sound wall fence, then landed in the push off lane on fire and the engine still screaming, and the car on 4 wheels shot forward into the wall.

Randi handed me a bumper strip that night at the Nat'ls. It was the first time I ever saw it but have seen it many times since. "Get in, sit down, shut up, and hang on!"

Grove - the year he banged wheels with Wolfgang was 1988. I believe "Turner's last coming" (last trip to the Nationals) was 1992 which was an entertaining story of its own.

How about sharing a few Randi Turner stories (anyone), after all it is still a few weeks before the racing season and I am really bored. A good story on this driver would be welcomed. Smile BTW I found out what 5FB meant. Now for the 4Q?

5FB = five fat men of questionable parentage (his crew!)

4Q . . . . use your imagination.

Wasn't known as Randi "Turnover" for nothing.... Not a Simone by a long shot, but always fun to watch.

Who cares about how many times randi made the highlight reel?Seems to me the other driver pictured made it himself, more than once. What about randi's great showing with the C.R.A.(The Flying Shoe,The Tempe Tornado,The Ripper,etc.+S.J. reg's,NARC/Golden State guys, stout field) guys at the San Jose Fairgrounds, lead the feature for awhile, finished strong. He had good runs, fielded good eqiupment, and was ALWAYS entertaining, just never enough money to race non-stop.Hope his two black daschunds he always had tied up at the ramp of the trailer are well.Anyone remember their names?

Weren't Nigbo and Tigbo dognapped at some point? Pictures surfaced of them about to be crushed by heavy equipment leading some to speculate that someone with Rich Voss may have been involved.

It looks like Randi's added a new act to his repertoire.

Although the video is more than a few years old, it recently made it on a major network too.

Today, racing needs more Randi Turner's-
