Ok so I saw this on hose heads and thought I would share. I was think ing about going down to check this out but now i am thinking staying home and relaxing is a better idea. What do you think about it after seeing this video????

I am glad I didn't waste the money to go. I heard from a driver the track sucked.

At $37 grandstand price I am glad I didn't waste my money as well.

From experience it was the worst thing i've ever spent my money on. At midnight after being there all day I headed southbound 35. They still had 2 d's 2 c's 2'b's the A and the multi A to run. Worst night of my life.

yeah i watched that video thursday night - and yeah it looked horrible. and it really makes ya feel bad for those puttin on the show......because i'm sure they just wanted to put on a good show and ya know.....make some money. nothin wrong with that - track just looks too small and too narrow - and mishapen. i imagine it leavin a bad impression to folks who went and it wasnt good. but its probably gonna be a work in progress - if they did this again next year - i'm sure they would make proper adjustments--if it is possible to. i couldnt really tell so i'll just ask - was there any room to expand the track in any way?

as for the video - yeah just from a fans perspective - it looked pretty bad. suprised they posted it BEFORE the show. anyone who saw that vid pre-friday would have known it would not be a very good race. but hey where as it sucks this year - ya gotta hope that they keep doin it - KC is a reasonable drive from down around the okc metro - and if they could make proper adjustements - this could be a cool winter time race to see, either just that or coupled with the chili bowl. but i do feel bad for those puttin on the show - i;m sure they put a lot of time and hard work in the whole thing - and for it to end up less than stellar - thats too bad. and its easy for me to be optimistic about them doing it better next year and stuff - because i didnt waste a lot of dough goin up there - if it ended up as bad as it looked - i'm sure many fans will be awfully bitter bout it. even had i planned to go - the moment i saw that video wed. or thurs. night - i would have called the hotel immediately to cancel....it just looked bad....

Was only 32 last night and it sucked to no end.

I guess I was expecting a Dome and had to stop and remember that it is being held in an arena. Now the possiblities would be endless if it were held in a dome stadium such as the Houston Astrodome. Which would have been the case but was shot down at the time by our favorite person, Skip Wagoner.

Back in the 70's they ran a midget race in the Astro Dome. I believe AJ Foyt won.

for you people responding you were evidently not there on saturday nite. this show was better than any chili bowl i ever went to. there was three grooves 3 wide racing in the feature once the better drivers were on the track.

Are you talking about the Chili Bowl in Tulsa?Try this,go on a night while they are racing.

Wow, don't know if you are having an out of body experience or what, but that track was NOT 3 grooves at any point! We left at 11:00pm Sat. nite before the A, as I had seen enough. I surprisingly sat thru the consys too but by the time they started farming the track again we decided we had seen enough. I later heard that the A wasn't a bad race as a 2nd groove finally came in, but the damamge had been done.

What a crappy weekend. No organization, no knowledgable track prep, $4 hot dogs (that was the cheapest item on the menu), poor ventilation for the fumes, and no heat made for an extremely unbearable weekend.

Oh yeah, and the screw job they put on the support classes as well. Split the purse in the Mod Lites and split the cars into 2 features. No laps, just a 15 minute time limit to run it in and then they'd drop the checkers. Don't know if that happened for the 1200s or Legends. The 600s got to do their show and were actually the only ones worth watching. (no offense to the other guys, the 600s just seemed to work better on the small track)

I won't be back next year, this thing was a joke.

Hell I've never been to the Chili Bowl, watched it on PPV last year, and can tell you that that show is leaps and bounds above the quality of this one.

i think you had some sort of vested interest in this show - judging by your posts on this and the national forum. and hey thats great for you. no one is saying they shouldnt do this race again - seems most are just saying it was the first time and it sucked. maybe folks like me who did not go have no place to say anything - but you should consider the thoughts and opinions of those who did go and felt like they wasted their money. from the vids i saw before the race i didnt think it would be very good - and as i said earlier in the thread - that really sucks because i am sure those that put this show together really busted their ass to do it - and it sucks for them. so hey - work in progress. listen to the folks who werent happy - fix it - do it better next year.

now the comment there that i find laughable is any comparison at all to the chili bowl. its just not wise to do that. its nothing against the kemper race that the chili bowl is the best race in the world. nothing against you guys that the kemper race - never will be. no one involved with the kemper race should ever utter the words chili bowl before, during, or after the show. because thats not a level of quality the kemper show will attain anytime soon - if ever. so check it - if you thought the race was great - good for you. if you disagree with every opinion i have read yet - that said it sucked - well more power to ya. but dont even mention the words chili bowl in the same sentence as this race. Kemper could get themselves a nice lil show someday - but if anyone associated ever thinks its gonna be anything like the Bowl - - - its just not going to happen. Everyone assoc. with the Kemper show should just focus about trying to put on the best race they possibly can... seriously - before making comments detrimental to what is probably the best dirt race in the world - rethink that strategy. think how to make the paying fans of the Kemper race happy first - then make more carefully worded statements of comparison to the chili bowl...

kind of like - make sure the Twas the Midgets show is even ANY good - before comparing it to the best. yeah thats pretty much it.
