Are companies finally realising the Millions a year spent for most of these cars to run consistently in the 20th-30th place is unacceptable and not worth the financial loss.
The only think shocking is some of the companies that have dolled out money for as long as they have with little or no result to some of these guys.

I think this is GREAT!!!
In a tough economy you need, maybe even more than a good economy, to convince the people to spend the dollars they DO have on YOUR products and services.
Companies often take a more tactical approach in times like these. It could, quite possibly, mean some of those companies that can't afford to spend MILLIONS on a NASCAR team CAN afford to spend hundreds of thousands at a more regional and local level.
I'd look for some of this money to show up in WoO, ASCS, ARCA...even Indy Car.
NASCAR got too big, too fast. They watered down the product and TV ratings and attendance reflect that fact. I still scratch my head as to why NASCAR ended up being the #2 spectator sport instead of Indy Cars.

if obama gets elected it will all work out as he will

Richard Childress ran his own team with little money in the 1970s, so he'll be the best prepared for this.
With the starting money that's paid nowadays, we may see several "start and park" teams like what already exists in Truck and Nationwide. These teams don't even set up pits or buy tires. Take the green and park after 10 laps.
The last time this was happening in Cup, NASCAR called it "Entrapenuers (SP?) taking advantage of the situation."
In the 1980s there were a lot of competitive teams running on 3 million a year. If the sponsorship requirements drop to reflect the law of supply and demand, the ship will right itself. It will mean less people on the payrolls, even on the big teams. No more paying 5 dozen men big bucks to do nothing but R & D. It could actually allow the smaller teams to catch up, provided they can come up with at least a small sponsorship.

How about this? If all of us ignorant small business owners are paying too much for our employees health insurance coverage, why don't we just drop it and let our employees get on Obamas plan. Once everyone does this they will all be in the same pool. If everyone is in the same pool and there are no private plans left to compete with....what do you think will happen to healthcare costs when there is only one pool?
If my fine is ZERO because I am a small business, why in the world would I want to provide insurance for my employees when they can get it from the Government?
Dazed and confused.

Employer paid insurance used to be a negotiation between Unions and Management.
This was a "legal" way of commiting income tax evasion.
Over the years, HOW did insurance become a requirement? Are employees to damn stupid to manage their own pay?
Must be true or it wouldn't be an issue today.

Health insurance cost is just ONE of the major factors crippling our economy. It's ashame a Repubulican led White House and Congress squandered the opportunity to do any real good on any front. It's not like they didn't waste enough money to... the deficit has doubled to $10 trillion and we still don't have a f'n thing to show for it.
In 2007, employer health insurance premiums increased by 6.1 percent - two times the rate of inflation. The annual premium for an employer health plan covering a family of four averaged nearly $12,100. Healthcare for seniors is over $20,000 per year. Greed is the only reason, it's time to get the lobbyists out of D.C.

Notice the kitchen aid and kraft sponsors that are also on that ride. If you don't get it, I'm not explaining it.

In recent years many top tier NASCAR teams cars have already started doing revolving door sponorships with different paint schemes and major sponsors on their cars every other race. Under the current economic climate we're in, a good vinyl guy will start being worth as much as a front tire changer...lol.

Cart, road races, foreign drivers that didn't connect with fans, IMO these are reasons why Indy cars lost.

When Dave Blaney wins a race I'll consider NASCAR fixed.
