Who said? And can you prove that? I have herad that SFS is going to go 108" next year. I have not been able to prove that either. But it needs to be done.
That's my Opinion and I'm stick'en to it.

They are NOT Legal..Lanny Made an exception for one car this last week , I guess they were from Elk city or Altus Area. Thats what I was told by an Official.
either way Bring em all, We could use the cars down there.
I am worried this class wont be here at all next year forcing us to Go to Meeker or Ardmore..Both great tracks but Lawton is home to me and I sure hate the fact that the track is not what it used to be.
Al Unser Sr. Once Raced an old school Super Modified at Lawton back in the 70's and Later said in a magazine article That Lawton Ok. Was one of the most challenging and definitely fastest dirt tracks he had ever raced on.. Thats quite a compliment for any facility...I am sure Al would be a little disappointed to see it today..

I don't remember Al Sr at Lawton but I remember Al Jr. racing there. They said he was 16 but he looked 13 and was fast.

that track woulda been a lot different when he raced there right?
ever since he screwed with it to make it a 3/8ths or whatever - it just KILLED it. he's done some thing since to try to remedy it - but its still one lane coming out of 2 and 4. or I mean - in the sprint cars it is. I wont go back down again - when I pay the admission - I'm there for the sprints - so ascs is about the only time i would go the last couple years. but nonetheless I want to see good racing in the other classes - i mean not just 4 cars finding ways to hit each other. sorry to inject my opinion is there.
my point is that IMO lanny ruined the track when he messed with a couple years ago. before that the races were always a killer - been no good since. If I want to see racing like what I USED to see at Lawton - I go to Cowtown.......

If he didn't change the track. There wouldn't be no Lawton Speedway. No insurance company would cover the old track any more because of the guardrail.
