Tonights High Limit midweek race at Red Dirt raceway in OK didn't disapoint ! Cory Day made it 2 in a row putting on a heck of a drive coming from 7th for the W and was the durst dice roll driver earning an extra 3500 bucks. Sunshine was 2nd and Brent Marks ran 3rd. It looked like a decent crowd and a good car count and what I thought was some good racing.

Watching on Flo, it was a pretty good show. No support class, minimal downtime and a CA driver winning, its all good :-)

Watched all three races this week. Would exspect a lot fewer cautions with that caliber driver drivers. Its seeems just when it is about to get good someone spins or someone plays bumper cars. Not sure who is paying the purses but only one good crowd in three nights.

Entertaing race lots of passing. Day is gonna be one of the best in the business here real soon. He doesn't seem like an 18 year old in driving and the way he handles himself.

He's a talent for sure, when I saw him at Dirt Cup I knew the kid was special. Then when he won his first outlaw race I knew my first impression was right and he was going places.

Everybody has their opinion on what is a good race and none of them are wrong if that is what they like. For me, I prefer longer green flag runs through lapped traffic where passes are earned. Every one has to pass the same cars to get to lead. No putting lapped cars to rear after the lead cars worked to pass them and no starting guys beside someone who they couldn't pass before. I hate double file restarts.

Day has been great the last couple of nights. Both series are putting on really good racing for sure, looking forward to the week coming up for more of it.

I dont miss support class especially in the weekday shows. Hard to estimate crowd as its a small track and grandstand.$20K to win has to come from somewhere. Corey Day is young and aggessive and has good equiptment good for HL when the favorites dont win but race good. The announcing was fine. I wont comment on National Anthem as that is not easy to do.All in all weekday races are good for the racers and fans and Flo is one reason they are able to this.Kyle and Brad are doing this to help racing and not to lose money doing it. Kyle Larsons presence without question brings fans and viewers. We dont have the domination or the rivalries to promote when Steve Sammy and Doug were the face of sprint car racing.

Also, that track is tiny, and was very hard to get ahold of last night. There are going to be plenty of cautions racing on a flat 1/4 mile for 20K on a Tuesday.

How about Larson almost putting Rico into the wall ?    I didn't expect to see that.   They said it was payback for an earlier incident but I didn't see the first one.   Was it in a heat race ?

The racing was fantastic.  The Saturday night Chili Bowl level downtime drove me nuts.  Thankfully I had an awul Red Wings team to watch to fill the hours of downtime.

It was some very good racing.  It would have been better to see in person I suspect.

The 1/4 mile "bull rings" appear to have more yellow flags it seems to me. However the drivers are pushing harder so that may also contribute to the increased yellow flags and the track is a little more crowded.

The 3/8 mile dirt tracks appear to be the ideal length.  With 1/2 miles the cars tend to get strung out fairly quick and the engine (dollars) come into play faster I think.

I see nothing wrong with the way they determine the starting positions and restart positioning. Allowing the drivers to pick inside or outside individually helps a great deal.

I think the heats should be a few more laps.

No support races can allow it to move along faster which is great on weekdays for many folks.

I suspect the streaming services and sponsors are helping the purses. The fans in the stands most likely help pay the track operators.

The people that though Rico and Larson dominate are wrong so far . . . . . . .

Now if the two groups would play together better, well one can dream.

27 cars is too many for a 1/4.

I really don't have an issue with double-file restarts, but on the other hand I wouldn't be opposed to single-file either.  As far as the lapped car debate, you'll never see the lapped cars intertwined with the lead lap cars again, and I'm absolutely fine with that.  Thankfully, that idea went out the window a long time ago.  How many times during the season do we see the leader blow by 3 or 4 lap cars with the second place car just about ready to do the exact same thing (because his momentum is going to carry him by on the next corner) and then the yellow comes out.  If you put those 3 or 4 lap cars behind the leader on the restart, in single file, with 5 to go, you might as well pull the cars in the pits and call the race there because it's over.

I believe it was early on in the feature that Rico did pretty much the same thing to Kyle but I missed that one. Wasn't that why Kyle ended up in the work area then came back out and started moving forward and repaid the favor on the way ?

I don't believe Kyle went to the work area last night.  I think that was at Texas

He definitely was at Texas 2 times.  I don't think he fell back past about 10th or 12th last night however.  ??   Unless they didn't show him going to the work area.  I do remember it clearly at Texas however 2 times.  Maybe my mind isn't working, but I don't think he left the track during the feature.
