|
This track is on the verge of going under and they have a old retired racer screwing the track up weekly. This past week drivers were leaving and pulling in because the track was so rough and unraceable. It's turned into the biggest joke in Ohio. The fairboard trying to run it with their golden boy in charge was sure not the answer!

Interesting comment since all people have bitched about for decades is how dry, slick, and dusty it is. Now it's too rough, let me guess it's too fast as well. For some reason Fremont can't make anyone happy. When Ford had it everyone complained about it being slick and slow, then Farmer took over and it was too fast and heavy. Everyone is on the same track, shut up and race. I'm tired of everyone crying.

The Speedweek show was great, like how fremont was a while back. Can't speak for the weekly shows but I hope they get it turned around, we don't need to lose tracks.

Wrong, I ran there weekly during the Farmer era. So don't tell me I don't know shit.
If your breaking frames without a crash, your frames are shit. There are several teams that have stated they won't go to Fremont because of the dust and burning up tires. The track tries something else because everyone is bitching and now they bitch about the change. I grew up down the street from the track and can remember when it was closed, how about you? That's where it's heading now, because racers want to dictate everything. Some like it slick and some like it fast. You can't make everone happy.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. The track is the same for everyone. Worry about making your car faster and not how to prep the track.

I don't know you, but I like you. Been saying this for awhile. Lots of whiny asses who think track surfaces are MTO. It happens here in PA too. God forbid The Grove has a wet track after recent rain. All you hear about is how narrow it is and you can't pass yet more times than not, someone will advance 10+ positions in the feature. It's not that you can't pass, its that the guys bitching don't have any other game than throwing sliders through the slick. They just don't want it that way because they don't wanna get up on the wheel and be challenged by a technical surface. Used to laugh my ass off when certain guys would whine about how narrow the surface was and that it's too fast on entry or whatever bullshit they cook up, then Brian Montieth would go out in the feature and destroy the field from 12th starting spot.

I'm sure you're a frame expert. I have the same frame that just won the 250k last weekend. I'll ask Dan if he has a cornfield edition. Yes i remember when it was closed. It was the best few years in auto racing. It's about to close again because it's a shit hole and the people running it are nuthuggers and have their little click they try to impress. Hopefully the fair board will lease it out again to someone who actually cares again instead of running it into the ground themsleves. Or maybe they like not having any 410's there. They could always make it a 305, trucks and 4 cyl. class track.

Yea, Sheetz & Rutters are both amazing (never thought I would say that about ANY convenience store!)
I'll never forget the first time I ordered a sandwich on their digital kiosk & it was actually damn good

You never been to a Buc-ee's then but the closest is outside of Lexington KY.
I tend to prefer Casey's for ones in the Midwest just because they support racing.
