Brewer1s...

Thanks for the kind words on article. Doug Kennedy did a nice job writing it and Landon was very open about his accident and how important racing has been to him.

Dirt Monthly Magazine is currently free and online at http://www.dirtmonthly.com

The April issue just went up last night. You can read online or else download to your computer or device.

Thanks,

Justin Zoch

Justin, I've always been a fan of your work and the few times I've gotten to read DIRT Monthly or a story from them have been impressed, but Cyndi Stiffler's article in April's issue is absolute trash. I understand it's under the opinion page, and everyone has one, but that shouldn't give her or any writer the ability to flat out state falsehoods. I don't have any problem with any journalist (though I use that term lightly in her case) or writer having a dissenting point of view, so given it's fact-based. Hers' clearly is not. It's a shame.

Sprintfan16.....It says at the top of her column that it is an opinion.....Not trying to start an argument, but maybe many people reading Dirt Monthly feel exactly like she does over this dreaded virus....I went back and reread her piece. I didn't read anything that was outlandish....what did she say that was false in your opinion ?

I also went back and read her article.   Not only is it an opinion, it's also my opinion.   I agree with her 100%.

So here's the thing, I clearly indicated it was an opinion article, but she gets into statistics which are irrefutable - that's what I'm referencing. She can have her opinion on generalities all she wants - but no one can disagree with facts.

She talks about "deep political underlying tones" - that's opinion. I'm fine with that. She views it as sacrificing rights - sure, go ahead tiger. But calling COVID-19 a "several seasonal influenza" is inherently false - COVID is a specific strain, and influenza is caused by specific strains that are different. Also, while case fatality rate definitely changes, she throws out a number that is far too erroneous to be considered correct.

Facts are still facts. An opinion page gives no exception to that.
