TKS Motorsports – Austin McCarl & TKS Part Ways

Dallas, TX (August 27, 2019) – TKS Motorsports and Austin McCarl mutually decided to part ways on Monday, bringing an end to their three-year run together that included four wins and a track championship at the Knoxville Raceway.

This season ended with the team sitting 3rd in points at the famed half-mile, after racking up 5 finishes in the top five and 10 top ten finishes. While still a solid showing, the team failed to live up to their expectations in the encore to last year’s championship.

“We struggled to get into a good routine this season, largely due to the large number of rainouts early in the season,” said car owner Troy Renfro. “It was an okay year, but Austin and I decided it was time to go our separate ways. Tammy and I think the world of Austin and will do whatever we can to help him going forward.”

McCarl was thankful for the opportunity to run the Casey’s General Stores/Midwest Basement Systems #2KS and is excited for what the future has in store. “It was great racing for Troy and Tammy and working with the crew,” said Austin. “Winning a championship was a huge accomplishment and I’m thankful I had the chance to win it with this team.”

Check out the TKS Motorsports website for the season schedule and more from the TKS team.

TKS Motorsports is thankful for the support from all their loyal sponsors:

On a related note: Did anyone one else notice that now 3 McCarls have won season point championships at Knoxville?

Wonder if Dollansky could end up back in the car?? He will be healed and that's how the team started...

I must be missing it then. Austin won the 410 points in 2018 to become the 2nd McCarl to win a Knoxville championship. Carson won the 305 title this year to become the 3rd McCarl to win a championship. Did Carson or Leonard or Kenny(?) win a championship before that?

I’m not sure I’d be picking any of the current 410 driver listed in the points standings to fill the seat.  They’ve all tried to beat brown the last 5 or so years and can’teven come close.  Joey Saldana Would be my pick if they want a championship. Ryan Giles if they want to give a 360 driver a shot.

2018 Champion and 2019 3rd very commendable.Brown is the favorite to win Knoxvilles weekly show and when the Outlaws or AllStars are in town still one to watch. The McCarls are very resilient and always seem to find something to work with.Still tough to make a full time living with just your helmet and desire. The 2KS is lucky thery got Caseys on board and are a solid team.

You took the word right out of my mouth. Brooke and Renfro have worked together on the outlaw tour and he has been disappointing in the #55
