I love how everyone suddenly becomes judge and jury from behind a keyboard.
Whatever happened to getting the whole story from both sides or even just examining the facts. NO - Instead, lets just quickly justify your remarks based on someone's pocketbook or status.
STAN - I really hope they have an idea of who got into Brooke's hauler and stole the $$$. It seems to me, thats where the focus of this all should be instead of who said what about who? So childish.
Yes - I do still follow - but crap like this is why I don't get involved anymore.
Look me up sometime Stan - we have some catching up to do at some point.

I would think Tony has enough money that he could employ a guy known as "Tony Stewart's ass-kicking wingman". Not that Tony can't hold his own in a fight, but this guy gets paid to step in for Tony and "take care" of business so Tony doesn't have too.
Kind of like "Michael Vick's official weed carrier".

His wife posted something about a bunch of people stepping up to help their son with the kart racing. They were at Cedar Lake arena racing yesterday afternoon and the tornado that was spotted by the lake didn't get them. Rotation went past my place and I heard that someone spotted something up on the north side of town.
Funny comment a few posts back about what happens if Sweet wins and swears and Tony punches him out. I've seen crazier things happen and if that's what they want to do have at it. I'd put my money on Tony as he's a bit more solid than Brad. I could type my opinion until my hands fall off and it wouldn't change anything so I'm done hashing over this topic (as a sigh of relief comes over the crowd).

Hopefully Tony will grow up one of these days and quit acting like a drunk high school kid. This is one of many such incidents for him.

Smoke acts like an asshole and a douchebag because he has crew and others around him who have his back. One day smoke will get buried by some crazy fucker and it'll all be over for him. Can't happen soon enough

Judging by the reaction of the crowd and the commotion, sounds like the guy was trying to provoke Stewart. Like others said, need more context as the video only shows a fraction of the story. Would not be surprised if someone was trying to run their mouth thinking there were no repercussions either, which also seems to be happening alot as well

From an article covering the story.
The guy said that Tony should let the little guys race that he had so much money that he could ever spend. It was Tony who first started flipping the guy off and cursing and the guy rersponded by flipping him off with both hands. Then Tony went after him and chase him around the back side of another truck and punched him.
What made it even worst is that it was a ASCoC race. The series that Tony owns. The owner of a series should never be chasing after and punching someone in the pits.

When you buy a ticket that gives you the right to watch the race.If you want to be a dumb ass so be it but once the race is over you need to keep your thoughts to yourself . I dont blame Tony as the guy had it coming.
|
Tony is the series owner. He easily could have had security remove the guy if he wanted. There is never an excuse for attacking a guy because he says something you do not agree. ESPECIALLY if you own the series.
And in case you have forgotten this is the second time in two years that Tony has physically assaulted a fan. You forget he got off the back of a tractor while doing track prep at the Chilibowl and ran up into the grandstands to go after a guy.
He has a serious anger management problem. He had several run-ins during his NASCAR days including physically attacking a reporter. He was forced into anger management by NASCAR. It does not look as if he learned anything from those courses.

The guy who made that stupid comment probably deserved to get his ass beat. Tony has done more to help the little guy, and the big guy and the guy in between, than probably anyone in the history of our sport. His contributions benefit everyone greatly. Him racing with those little guys gives them something they can show a potential sponsor who may not know much about sprint cars, but certainly knows who Tony Stewart is. That said, Tony going after the guy wasn't real smart on his part. We all know his past and incidents like this just make him look worse. Someone in his position has to be able to control himself better for so many reasons, all of which were already addressed in previous posts.

There was no security in the pits, at least none that could of escorted the drinking ape away in a second. I could careless about Tony Stewart but that dude deserved the bitch slap he got.
He was harrasing Stewart, people can say all they want about being the better man but I'm sick and tired of weak ass people running their mouths unchecked these days thinking they can just say anything they want with no repercussions..
The big, bloated wind bag got exactly what he deserved in my opinion. Job well done by Stewart in my opinion.
Hell, I might have to go buy a Stewart shirt now.

I agree with this. In fact, I've never seen security in the pits at any race I've been to. Stewart is no angel and is a hothead to boot, but this drunk asshole "fan" had it coming. It never fails to irritate me when I have my young son at the track (or any sporting event) and have the misfortune to sit near a person like this. If I had been there getting Stewart's autograph with my son, I would have welcomed Stewart's reaction to this guy as an object lesson. Don't be a prick or you're going to get your ass beat someday. I despise loudmouth jerks with a passion.
As for image, I don't think most people really care that much, nor do I think our beloved sport is big enough for something like this to matter. Dirt tracks and what goes on there are off most people's radar. We are the only ones who talk about it. The only reason this is an issue is becuase Stewart is a high profile person and people (almost exclusively race fans), have strong opinions about him.

I was messaging back and forth with a guy we call the Caveman who was camped near the heckler. He says that he had an old POS camper and he packed up and got out of there in a hurry. Caveman didn't know about the incident so he was wondering why the guy was in such a hurry to leave.
He verified the part about the finger. One was answered with two and two were answered with five then it was over as quickly as it started.
So now I'll float a new theory. The guy was a ringer planted on purpose to create controversy and generate headlines. If my theory is right then we've crossed the line and gone full on WWE. Everything except the cage and title belt. LOL

It’s funny how everyone yearns for the good old days, then get upset for someone doing something that happened thousands of times in the old days. You went down to the pits in the 70s, 80s, or 90s and drunkenly ran your mouth at a driver you were gonna catch a fist just like this guy did.

Also good points. I hadn't thought about the "owning the series" angle. As JUST an ordinary driver, it didn't bother me so much....

If Tony ever runs into someone who actually knows how to fight, he's gonna get knocked the f out. I love Tony but not because he's a tough guy.

Seeing odd stories on social media that Paul McMahan is driving the 14 @ 360 nationals and some are inferring TS has an injured hand?

I cant help but remember A.J. putting a headlock on Arie Lyendyke[sp?] I see Tony won a race last week so He can still get it done. The fight betwwen Allisons and Cale Y. has become legendary but that was more than a single punch or two and also betwwen two racers which to me has more true tough guy image than with a cheap mouth drunken heckler.I will still state buying a ticket does not give you the right to be a dumbass. Its not the WWF which is basically fake fueds make them rich.

Yup. That guy had been after stewart all evening. Not just at that moment after the race.
While nearly every team had already packed up and left, Stewart was one of only a couple teams still in the pits signing autographs. This fat ass makes his appearence again, and by then, Stewart had enough. Dont blame him one bit. I was on the other side of pit road when it happened, and there was way more being said than what the article says. Several other people were on this guys case trying to get him to leave, but he kept running his lips. There was actually two others guys approaching fat ass at the time Stewart went after him. It was a bad deal, but why poeple run their lips like that is beyond me. But, he cried when it was over, and I am shocked police were not called. Hopefully he just chaulked it up as a life lesson, but the way today is, I bet he has a lawyer and they are making plans.
