I would like to see some kind of documentary of what it is like to live on the road as a World of Outlaws team and driver. Usually races are on the weekend so is there time to have fun and sightsee on the weekdays? I would be enjoying time at the beaches in Florida! Do the racers stay in the motor home until the next race or fly home? I would imagine the crew stays with the truck and tries to find places to work on the car. It must be interesting to find safe places to park it each night. Life on the road sounds like a fun experience, but also hard work! I remember reading that a driver ordered a pizza to be delivered to their motor home in a parking lot and that was just life as a traveling race car team.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Weekly maintenance typically takes about 8-10 hours following a race. depending on travel you may have 12-24 hours total drive time between tracks. Most teams have 2-3 crew members who stay with the rig (truck, trailer, car).  They do the majority of the maintenance work and driving. Most drivers have their own motorhomes and do have some free time to sight see and explore. Most teams have people throughout the country that they can stay with when close by, whether it be a fellow race team, or family member/friend.

Food usually isnt that much different than normal. Most RV's/Toterhomes have refridgerators and stoves. Most teams carry a grill with them as well. On the longer weeks where races are closer together distance wise, or there is more time between them it lends more to "home cooking" a meal.  On short weeks where this a lot of travel time it ends up being a lot of fast food, pizza, burgers, etc. We have even resorted to ordering pizza to the racetrack after a night of racing, or driving the pit mule through a drive thru when races are over and the dining room has closed down.

Life on the road does get grueling, especially through the middle of the season when time between races is short, distance between racetracks is long, and you are far from home. If results aren't as good as expected that can take its toll on a team as well. But for those that do it they wouldn't have it any other way.

I want to know about the pit lizards. Let's discuss that in detail shall we?

So you're saying you wouldn't want to turn the lights off and hold up a black light?

There’s a woman around the Fremont area that I refer to as Gang Bang Girl and a lot of people know exactly who I am talking about.
