Plan on attending outlaws in Vegas fev 27th&28th, have a few questions as I've never been before. 1. Hows the racing? 2. Is the track easy to get in and out of? 3. Will the crowd be huge being nascar follows? Thanks

the races i attended there were pretty good, last lap passes for the win on a couple of them. when i first went the track seemed so large or the cars looked tiny out there, being from ca. & bullring tracks and all, but after a few more races, got used to the size. it's an immaculate facility, with paved pits, haven't been in several years, i believe it's a four track complex w/nascar, dirt track, bullring, & dragstrip as well as many other venues represented. pretty easy to get in & out of, although never been during nascar weekend at the same time. this was when world finals were held there. you do get a lot of local-ca., az. etc... racers there being one of the 1st races of the year out west, usually good car counts. have fun

I would say the racing is average. Fast and big with nominal passing. Getting it and out is very easy with the the interstate (I-15) being right beside it. Good crowds, but not standing room only or anything. In case you didn’t know, it can get very cool in February, at night in the desert, so be prepared. 

I'm planning on just hitting the 2nd night of the Vegas show as I couldn't get out there earlier but was pretty bummed they have removed the USAC West Coast non wingers from the program and have added a K&N West 100 lap stock car race to run with the Woo on the second night. I sure hope they run the Woo feature first. Gotta wonder how good the track conditions will be the second night as I imagine they will want it dry slick and hard for the stock cars.

Last time I went which was 3-4 years ago there was no issue getting seats and traffic was no big deal. My only recommendation is watching from the pit grandstands was pretty dangerous as there was a lot of rocks coming at you so we ended up moving to the main grandstand.

Thanks for the clarification, when I looked at the Las Vegas Speedway site they didn't mention the USAC portion, just K&N. That put a smile back on my face. Again please run sprint car features first! LOL

Been there with my parents a few times and it was always icy cold.  Don't need a cooler wrap for a beer. I mean cold cold.  Take lots of clothes and really, clothes don't keep you warm either unless you have battery powered heated sweatshirts which I finally bought recently.  The desert at night especially with a wind is almost unbearable, makes walking around the strip at night not fun.  The racing was above average but not like a bullring dirt track.

Coolest thing about Vegas track is the line of cabs outside the track after the races waiting to take people back to the strip. 

I thought Minnesota was cold in February, but not after last year, Temps down in 40s, but with the wind coming down from Utah it was unbearable!!  Next day snow on my way to Pahrump. 

Unless you are a Canadian and a T-Shirt won't be enough.  Maybe a Sweatshirt over top or if you're not a hockey playing Canuck then maybe a Hoody, come on folks suck it up, you're race fans and watching a sprint car race in Feb.  How cold can it be, really...

Everyone is absolutely correct. It gets brutal cold in the desert at night in the winter . When the sun goes down you’d better have the hoody ready. It’s welll worth the trip to Vegas. 

Can be very cold like Volusia, desert cold

It would be nice if USAC would clarify this. I want to race there but not to run on that sand track after stock cars have run  a hundredl laps.
