The dude's a total a$$ clown. Minnehaha County didn't throw any wrench in the auction plans.

Most everyone out there in the racing community knew there was a clause where an actual race event needed to take place. Nobodys fault but good ol' Chucky Boy for not actually having some racing event out there.

Wildlife Rec Area??? Wth.

Just when you thought this whole CLOWN SHOW couldn't get any bigger.

Somebody get a clown nose to CB will ya.

Unreal, SAD, and DISGUSTING. It never ends with this guy. RME

Damn! I was going to post a week or so ago that I thought the prick would out of spite raze the entire facility and let it just grow over. Looks like that is his plan. So be it. He will mosy likely retain the ownership of the property so rebuilding a race track facility there is never going to be an option. Anybody who was interested in buying Huset's might just as well search out a new piece of ground and start construction of a new racing facility. During this off season might just be the time to do what Quiring did for Jackson Motorplex. Find a section of grandstand being removed from a NASCAR or INDY site and re-purpose it to a new dirt facility. Buildings like Morton Buildings work just fine for concessions and restrooms and out buildings.  Just thoughts, but a new facility is probably going to be the only option.

There is a piece of property 21 miles west that would work for a new track. It currently has a dormant race track on it. wink

He will get pennies on the dollar for anything that can be removed and reused minus the heavey equip which would retain nice value. Then there would be extensive expense to remove anything that has no value like concrete and septic. But, if I am a crazy loon like this guy and I wanted to go to my grave with the knowledge I was an a-hole that made extremeley poor financial decisions and took it out on a bunch of race fans then all the more power to him. As a promoter/business man that would need to make a lving by buying this factility I could see a price of 1 million. As a toy for a rich guy to play with I could see up to 3 million. My guess is it doesn't sell by the deadline and then we get a new pile of nonsense on the webpage come the 29th of December.

If he is willing to lose that kinda money razing the joint hopefully he gets naming rights for the wildlife preserve. Brennans Wildlife Preserve, where the jackasses roam.

This makes me wish I was filthy rich.  I'd buy the wildlife area from him after he tore the track down, and then I'd build the racetrack and stands exactly as it was.

wink

Well, to all those who were big supporters of Chuck and thought he was doing so much good, look at what you have now thanks to your hero.

Brennan is a sleazy piece of shit. I could see it all the way from Central PA when he made his comments about wanting to puke if he heard about Knoxville one more time or that his Rock n' Roll Gold Cup would blow away anything Knoxville ever did. He's a goofy looking douchebag with little man syndrome. Yeah he hangs out with rock stars and all that but would they want to hang out with him if he wasn't a millionaire? Hell no. He buys their friendship and he thought he'd come marching on to the sprint car scene throwing money around and all of us peasants would worship the ground he walks on. What he didn't realize, is that sprint car people are some of the least shallow people on earth. Most of us can't be bought and most of us don't take kindly to some guy who looks like a real life Peter Griffin pissing on such sacred and hallowed ground as Knoxville Raceway. Money can't buy what Knoxville means to sprint car racing. There is no price that can be put on the history that has happened there. And now, as one last middle finger to the sprint car community who happen to be the first people he ever ran into who he couldn't buy, he's throwing a tantrum like a jealous little 14 year old girl who's boyfriend dumped her for her best friend. I feel bad for all you people out there who may be losing a track that I'm sure meant so much to you and is home for countless memories. It's a damn shame that a low life asshole like Brennan had come in and do this kind of damage.

He might be getting major tax savings by making it a wildlife preserve? Then he can sit on it until he gets his ridiculous price....or at least something

Just guessing... I have some friends who are doing that with their farm (wildlife preserve, not sitting on it to sell later. They actually want it to stay natural)

I think he's trying to scare someone into buying it by making this threat. But at his price it won't work. Would not be totally surprised to see another press release with another change in plans in mid December.

You summed it up quite well! Only those of us that are from around here really know the magnitude of what the demise of Husets has done to sprint car racing in the region. Husets was an intregal part of what went on at Knoxville, and vice versa. The handful of drivers that ran both tracks year in and year out were just enough to keep the draw at both places up in numbers to really attract fans, and sponsors. And those tracks running two nights was enpugh to draw in other drivers from time to time, also. The saddest part of the whole damn thing is that Tod Quiring was really intent on investing what it would take to make the NSL prosper. When Brennen moved to Saturday night and declared war that killed the NSL. Instead of 410 sprint car racing in the region prospering, it suffered. It's a long road back to where it once was.

Perfectly stated. I would only amend, that I think he exemplifies a living, breathing, humanistic incarnation of Eric Cartman from South Park. Especially the episode where he discovers the truck load of aborted fetuses and is calling around trying to fence them for top dollar. Yeah he is exactly like Cartman. He's a sleazy, lying, manipulative, heinous asshole that has to buy his "friends". I say this respectfully...fuck him, I hope he lives a shitty, pitifully lonely life. He screwed the sport over royally!

Cheers!

Captain Hindsight! I was cautiously optimistic but not overly excited about him buying the track. After all the improvements he did and the purses he was paying, I was willing to defend him, he did put a lot of money into it. I didn't get, and still don't get what his angle is. I figured he would get bored and lease it to a promoter by now. Lease it for enough to cover property taxes and any sort of debt service plus a percentage of the gate and concessions. I don't think he's going to tear it down though.
