Never thought I would be saying this but Dirtvision is much better than the cushion. I have had three days of grainy video, buffering, and audio that sounds like a weak AM radio station. The camera crew and the on track reporters are fine , but the audio/video is not good at all. Especially before the sun goes down it is pixelated badly, clears up some after dark.

Just so everyone knows I have a 4k TV, Xfinity 150 Mbps fast internetand a Dell I7 computer with 64 RAM. So I honesltly couldnt have better equipment for this type of broadcast.

Hope it gets better as I purchased the 8 day PPV since I cant be there this year.

The Cushion broadcasts from Knoxville often so I expected a much better product.

I am also a monthly Dirtvision subscriber, and have had zero problems since I started about 20 races ago.

The Cushion should look into getting someone to announce during the week of the Nationals. Hire Racin Boys to work with you the week of the Nationals for announcers.
We had to turn the sound off several times, head banging music with someone screaming, Is there any one from Iowa, Is there anyone from Missouri, Is there anyone from Minnesota, Is there anyone from South Dakota. Good night.

Data speeds should be a bygone issue. Work on some production.  Have shorts about drivers, make it interesting.

Sit down and listen to it yourself.

$153 for the full week of Knoxville Nationals PPV... Thats nearly 4 months of DirtVision FAST PASS. To put that in perspective... for $153 you could've watched every single WoO race since April 13th. That's 36 races... and if it wasn't for the terrible weather it would've been 40+. From what I understand DV is owned by world racing group so they aren't sharing revenue with a sanctioning body like the cushion and speedshift are required to do. Maybe those two are doing well enough but with the service DV provides I can't bring myself to pay $25+ for a single night of PPV. I'll buy saturday nights PPV only because I'll be splitting it with a group of friends.

100% agree that DV is way better.  I had one small issue with DV back in June and they were quick to respond to an email and offered some incentive for me to become a monthly subscriber for the month of July.

The biggest problem I have with both of them is that it seems like somebody needs to produce the production.  That is, need a couple more cameras at the track and ability for a producer to switch back to better racing in the pack as needed.  The cushion was the worst for this duriny my 360 Nats watching experience.  THere was racing for the transfer spots going on during last lap and they went back to the leader to watch him take the checkered flags.  THen they just held the camera on the finish line as cars came across blurry and hard to see.  We know that the leader had checked out and was going to win....would rather be watching the 3 cars battling for last spot on last lap etc...

This year Dirtvision has been flawless. Thursday I bought thecushion and could not watch it. They eventually told me  they couldn't give me support for my Samsung SmarTV . So I was stuck with a $22 payment for a buffering screen. I guess I'll never be buying from them again !!!!

Not sure what gives with them showing the leader on the last lap, especially when he's got a half lap lead which almost always happens in the heats.  Hopefully that won't be the case these next few nights because the fast cars will be charging from the 4th row.  My coverage Sunday was perfect, just not that exciting of a show, c'est la vie....

I have gotten the Cushion for a couple weekly shows and the All Stars and had Dirtvision for two months as well.  My internet speed and signal strength is good so there aren't any issues here.  I've got a wifi extender in the lower level and get my streaming channels through Direct TV Now so all my TV viewing involves streaming.

Both have buffered some and they had an outage with the Cushion the first night where it cut out during the Feature.  They comped me another night of racing.  Aside from that I have had to back out and go back in with both from time to time but were generally alright.

I stream the races from a laptop to a 55" TV through hdmi out.  The laptop sits across the room on a small table next to the wall mounted TV.  I have to wrestle my way out a recliner whenever it buffers which after a day of yard work feels like a major undertaking.

$153 didn't get past my accountant.  $125 for three nights choice of Wednesday or Thursday I believe was $125?  Two nights $85 and one I think was $49.  My accountant didn't like any of those prices and I don't have anyone to split the cost with so I many end up Nationalsless this year.  Smile

The Cushion's Night 1 broadcast was pretty horrible for buffering, freezing, pixelation, black screen audio only at times (missed most of lap one through the first caution of the feature).  The quality of both Cushion streams was poor and rewind didn't work either.  This year, DirtVision (live) has been far superior in quality, exhibiting very litte to none of these issues, so I don't believe in any way the issue is on my end.  For the obscene amount the Cushion.com is charging (4 nights $138-$153 depending on plan), I hoped for better.  Live and learn.

Hope the next three nights are better,

BaJ

In Canadian numbers it was $222.70, a pretty big number to swallow, that was including the Cappy also....

Mine was OK until the feature, which had LOTS of buffering & stops

Bummer

She's been around going on 50 years so I think I'll keep her.  She's not crazy about racing but does all the other accounting tasks very well.  wink

They sent me an e mail saying it was due to overload of Knoxville's internet capacity (or whatever the term is) & last line was "Let us know how we can make things right with you and we will. " I asked for one night refund or equivalent credit for upcoming shows. Waiting for reply, not even sure what upcoming races they have....

I have only watched a few weekly shows on the Cushion as opposed to two months of Dirtvision.  This streaming business model has left me high and dry a few times at critical moments so I always feel like I'm wagering my money on seeing a full race.  I was tentatively looking at the three day deal but that's a lot of money ($125) if there are broadcast problems.  I would suspect that keeping up with the increased number of viewers presents a challenge as opposed to their normal fare of weekly shows.

I'm not sure what I'll do.  I'd like to get tonight through Saturday but am fighting the price tag on three days.  Just now transitioning from a working income to railroad retirement so I'm kind of tentative on taking the leap until we go a few months and get used to the new budget.  If everyone hears a drum roll coming from up north in Minneasota around 6pm tonight that would be me starting at the purchase button while flipping a coin.  wink

I bought the 8 race package and so far I am 0-5 in Quality.

If I would have known I would have saved my $230 and bought more race car parts.

By their reasons for poor quality I am not expecting to see much on Saturday night.

I am 0 for 2. Didn't get to see much of the feature last night

Maybe 8 total laps.

I e-mailed them this morning and have yet to hear from them. Last time the cushion gets my money
