Danny Dietrich

Horrible effort by me tonight. But I will say.. #48 will be west bound next Friday. Grove's track prep could screw up a wet dream.

The point of this post is what? To stir shit, either beating the bitching drums of the track prep bashing crowd, or that of those who find some amusement in the predictably continuous bitching about something??

Roads run east and west, north and south. May he have safe travels in the journey to that perfect track!

And congrats to Bucko on the win!

So you're biting both the poster for posting, and Dietrich for venting.....is that right? Well be careful when you "wish' cars away and hope for them to find that perfect track. There just might come a day when you yourself will be wondering....... "should I go east, west, north or south to find a good race?"

Looks like they had a nice crowd last night. I figured when I saw that Lance didn’t win that track conditions were not ideal. Nice to see Buckwalter get a win.

Its not only Williams Grove, I had dirtvision for last month. alot of the nights was no passing and rubber down. Then throw in tt and dash on a bad track and wonder who will win? Anyone who had dirtvision knows some nights they stopped show and reworked the whole track. One night was at least 45min. If they did that at Grove be more crying. If you don't like Grove go to LINCOLN!!! BETTER RACING

You're a midwest guy, right? So I take it you didn't drive 12+ hrs to see the race. Track conditions were not great.

You ever see feature results where it looks like everyone finished about where they started, and you think, "Man, it sure looks like there was hardly any passing in that feature"? It was one of those nights. Dietrich was involved in the opening lap red. Started at the rear after the red and promptly passed about four or five cars and was then stuck where he was at. I interpreted Dietrich's tweet to mean, "I was nowhere near good enough tonight, but track prep didn't help."

Lance had a fast car, but couldn't get around Macri for about 10 laps because there was hardly any way to get around a car who was in the groove on the bottom. Every time Lance had a good run to the outside of Macri in 1 and 2 it would stall out and Macri would pull away a bit only for the same thing to be repeated in 3 and 4. Don't read this as me bashing Macri, far from it. He ran his race and did everything right. And Lance did eventually find his way around him.

Was a nice crowd turnout, but track was pretty much follow the leader on the bottom. Unfortunate considering the race was to honor Walt Dyer. Felt bad for him that it wasn’t a better race. Grove track prep has been hit or miss his year. Track conditions started out very similar to the All star race back in April. Difference was they put water on the top of the turns after the heats back in April and the track got racey. Zearfoss 6th to win the dash and Lance 13th to win the A- main. Last night, no water.

I understand why folks get upset because they are spending hard earned money to see a good race. Just be careful what you wish for though. Understand a housing development is starting across the street from the track. If Grove owner sells out to a developer, fans will have no choice but to drive east, west, north, or south to see a race!!!

Good Gawd, You Posse people are turning into whining little bitches. Nothing wrong with posting a drivers comments

"Posse people"?  I'm going to hazard a guess that you automatically assume I'm "Posse" by my forum name.  Well, my friend, sorry to burst your bubble.  I'm neither "Posse" or "Outlaw"; rather, I'm just an individual who's been around open wheel racing for probably more years than you've had birthdays and I just call it like I see it.

Now to my post; how you misconstrued that into whining is beyond me.  Well, actually I do know....I only speak the truth and try to maintain some semblance of reason, so therefore a response such as yours is usually what follows.

No, there is nothing in the world wrong with posting a driver's comments.  As well, there is nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious that it is amusingly predictable the type of comments that usually follow after a night of lackluster performance.  DD had bad luck in the opening laps and the track definitely wasn't the best by any margin.  Neither of which he had any control of but shitty luck and/or track conditions are an unfortunate part of dirt track racing.

You'll hopefully understand all this one day after you grow up and mature a little bit.  And since you obviously don't get the true meaning of posts- the part about roads running east/west and north/south translates into the old adage "don't let the door hit you in the ass".

I've wasting enough time replying to you; so please refrain from responding until you have something logical to say.

Have a nice day.

Oh boy, not even sure why I'm bothering but....  The whole point is there is NO perfect track!!  They all suck on any given night.  Not "wishing" any cars away.  On the flip side, continuously bashing, bitching, and moaning about tracks could one day sway into the decision of what a track's future may hold.  In other words, track ownership may one day just say "sold, we'll take it because we can't do anything right in the eyes of some anyway" when presented with a buyout offer from say a real estate developer.  So then you have a hell of a lot more of a problem than small car counts; you now have no track period!!!

Again I wish everyone success in the search for that perfect track!

Brick.....great comment, I could not agree more. It seems over the last few years, Williams Grove can not do any right in some folks eyes.

Yes, upper Midwest, in the same state as the Badlands. Was the weather leading up to race day a factor? Tracks around here get like that when Mother Nature provides a little too much track pre-watering.

Danny did the same thing when the All Stars were at the Grove in his interview after the race.    However, he started 4th in that feature and LD started 13th and won that night.  Dewease went around DD without too much trouble that night.

DD. If anyone can find a reason it's him. He gets a kick out of stirring the pot. My biggest complaint with him is, if the track is off, he is not going to be in the winner' circle. Everybody knows that. So, DD, instead of compiling a list of excuses. Get better on garbage tracks. Your set up and right foot need to take a 180 degree swing, because what you push off with just doesn't get it done.

I AM NOT a DD fan but he is right about the track. He could say it alittle differently but racing is mot about single file heats and features. This is ongoing for what many consider a premier track. Many in the stands say the same "in a more eloquent" manner but something needs to change. We go each week and each year hope that Williamsgrove get better track prep. So far nothing. Port Royal, BAPS and Lincoln all have better racing. YES you will have some bad nights  with track prep but WG is becoming or is consistently bad.

Finally the rain stays away so a nice crowd of fans get to see how pathetic the racing has been.

The track went away on lap 4 of the first 410 heat.

All the rain last week and the water trucks were used at intermission to pound the cushion...it sucks so bad the valve on the truck doesn't dare leak.

Glad I renewed my reserved seats...another crowd like that might CAUSE FANS TO REALIZE DOUBLE D IS RIGHT.

A ight of Pussyfooting around the bottom...

You are correct. I did assume you were posse by your screen name. Been to the Grove many times. I did find it interesting that when I used to go to the Grove for 2 night shows that the 1st night seemed to be a heavier track that appeared to be in favor for the Posse. 2nd night dry slick Outlaw track. I've been going to Sprint Car races all over the country for over 45 years. Sometimes you see a good one sometimes you don't. I grew up when Sprinters Cars packed a sloppy wet track. Those days have been gone for a long time. Manzanita was my home. Funny how in the middle of the desert you can have a great track. You can't just spend one day prepping a track. Rarley does any track dig it up , water for 4 to 5 days before a race. Ascot was another amazing prepped track. Jiggs had Gas City in IN prepped very well 90% of the time. Perris seems to have two groves every race.  Sad that dry slick rubbered down track has become the norm and there are some valid reasons why. Nothing wrong with dry slick if you can have 2 groves.

I'll take a heavy track with a heavy cushion and moisture on the bottom any day of the week. To me a good track should be at it's prime for the A main and not taking rubber in the heats.
