Actually I though the racing was great. The NSL wingless are going to be putting on some great races too, when the field gets full. There was another race elsewhere that kept the car count down. One of the key people with the track stopped by our suite and visited a while. He said just as we suspected that they put a little too much water down on the low side. The track stayed heavy and didn't widen out as they had hoped. Although by Feature time it was shaping up nicely. But there was still plenty of track up high available. So he stated flatly that they would learn from that and not let it happen again. They'll have it to where there's a bottom line, a cushion out to the wall and a good middle groove. No doubt in that. There was a lot of close racing throughout the A Main and up front a heck of a race. Kemenah and Brown had the fans standing and when they did get to lapped traffic Brown was right there on Eliason. Eliason drove a good race, but he had a little trouble with lapped traffic and that played in to Browns experience. The last yellow quite possibly is what sealed it for Eliason. But he was fast for sure. There were several other races for position going on too. Am I looking forward to the Jackson Nationals with the WoO and the All Stars show?  DAMN STRAIGHT! There was a lot of fan visiting after the races and to a person everybody was excited about where the track is headed. Quiring, Johnson, Baker and crew will make it happen. We're lucky to be so close!

That other race elsewhere was a UMSS 360(w) along with Traditionals aka non-wing at Princeton, Minnesota.  The UMSS race was originally scheduled for last night and the conflict was from Jackson rescheduling.  I was hanging with my neighbor who's kid is driving a Micro Sprint that were also on the card last night.  Brooke Tatnell had a previous commitment to drive the Duane Nelson's 14 and Balog was driving Pat Donahue's 34dd.  They were both pitted by us.

The skies opened with a downpour that wasn't even in the forecast and washed out the Micro, Mini Mod and UMSS 360 Features.  I didn't realize how slippery it is trying to push a Micro Sprint up the ramp in a downpour.  Those little buggers feel a lot heavier when it's raining harder than a cow pissing on a flat rock and you can't get any traction.

Back to the subject of the non-wing cars.  The last I heard there were 19 on hand and they put on a great show on the high banked quarter mile.  It's too bad the 360's couldn't have run their Feature as it would have been a great one.  We were all surprised to see Skylar Gee from the ASCS National Tour drop in last night.

Track was super fast around the top....probably a 6 inch ridge for the cushion.   Track also looked really smooth as it ddnt look like there was a lot of bounching around.  Plenty of space for cars to race 3 wide and clean

the added lights and redone pit area is perfect from a fans point of view...almost like a clay/dirt mix......my concern will be if it rains, it might be a little tough for the rigs to get in and out.

BIG THUMBS UP as we made the drive over from s.f. last night

Well actually, it has nothing to do with that FYI. Okoboji Motor Company has been involved with the race track and previously the NSL ever since the new General Manager took over. Ya see, he's a race fan just like many of us that have worked and still work there. The cost of the suite does a lot to support the racing and yes, it gets the company name in front of the fans. And you might like to know (but I doubt it seeing as where your nose usually is) we do invite customers to enjoy the suite and the races. Car owners and driver's families have also been invited.  And in fact, some of the customers that have been up there had never been to a race before! And now, we have seen them there on several occasions the past few years. If YOU should ever visit Jackson, I think you'll discover that all the companies that supprt the racing there are race fans first! It's pretty easy to be a race fan at Jackson, always has been, and it's so much nicer today with all the improvements. Ask anybody! Do yourself a favor, bury the hatchet you carry and make it up to the Jackson Nationals.

I’ve been to Jackson on many occasions.  I’ve been to the nationals on many occasions.  Yes for the last few years It’s been hard to be a race fan at Jackson.  They have have A loyal following and that is great.    But Super late nights. Farming the track at 11:15  and starting the feature at 12:10am.  Very little passing.  Tire eater costing teams lots of rubber.   I’m very happy they got the rocks out and shortened it up.  I think it will make the racing much better.   We know you love Jackson, (that’s good).  We know Okoboji Motors has been a long time sponsor up there.(that’s great).  so I was kind of kidding, about purchasing cars from you, because, like suporting home tracks, I have to support my home local car dealership as well.   Was just curious what a guy had to do to get up in the Okoboji motors suite that you’re in.    Maybe if I come to the Nationals, I can at least sneak in for one free beer???

Yep. Smile And I'm sure you'll enjoy the new configuration, and the car owners and drivers will too. This should help reduce their racing costs. And quite sure the fans are going to benefit with some great racing.

The track crew has a few more weekly Friday shows to tweak the H2O formula, I'm confident they'll have it right by the time the nationals roll around in June. Not that it was terrible last Friday but, was a tad heavy and never fully widened out. Being said, the A features (non wing and 410) were still pretty good. Plus Kat's Hog Heaven is still selling pork tenderloins at the track, which alone are worth the price of admission. C'mon June 7th, get here!

I second the comment on the Pork tenderloins being worth the price of admission alone!!!  But, I've gotta say the pulled pork sandwhich is my go to!!!  Highly recommend for everone on here to stop at the Kat's Hog Heaven booth on the west side of the consession stand!!
