A few interesting tidbits came out this weekend, was wondering if anyone heard anything else:

- 2018 National Open to pay 56k to win, 1k to start

- Port Royal to have 2 day Outlaw show in late October

- KKR back in 2018, with both cars

- Seemingly everyone else back in 2018 as well, plus Lorenc

i wonder who will drive the Stenhouse 17 car next year.

From the WoO website:

A pair of multiple-time World of Outlaws winners will join the tour full-time.

I assume that means The Madsens.

That would bring the tour to 18 or 19 full timers.

I thought Port was trying to get a summer date. Not a fan of moving the Port date back a couple weeks. They've been real lucky with weather last couple years but in late October the chances of nice weather are lower. 2 day show is better for the track and the WOO I guess but I was fine with a one day show.

Can the current Woo pay out suport 18 or 19 full time teams?   With almost sellout Crowds and the same purse Forever. What would it take for the Woo to raise the purse?

Also funny how the Williams Grove Open is paying $56k next year after paying 50k for years.  Afraid Port might get ahead of them a little since they announced the 51k 2018 Tuscarora 50?  They should be.....

I wish our many talented CA drivers could get an Outlaw ride! We have soo much young talent here and they are dominant at our local tracks I think they would be great at different tracks going on the road with the WoO. The problem is it is very expensive to race all over the county just with the driving far distances. For example, our 2005 King of California winner, Carson Macedo races at different tracks in the midwest and wins at tracks he has never been to. I think he is racing with the All Stars if I remember right.  I also have a great feeling that David Gravel or Brad Sweet can win the WoO championship next year!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Sheldon needs to break away from everyone comparing him to his dad. That team is close they just cann't seem to get over the top. I don't think the 17 car would be a good fit, that team seems to have deeper issue's than who has been in the seat. Nobody has had that car up front, as the night goes on they seem to back up, and to me that is all on the crew chief.

Au contraire, mon frer! You obviously didn't see Kyle Larson put a BACK-UP car in the winner's circle at Eagle Raceway this year.

I agree that there are problems there, but the right driver can get it done.

Kyle Larson is half machine half superhuman, I wouldn't point to his performance as a sign that everything is ok. One data point vs a season's worth.

Kyle did win at Eagle but he drove the wheels off of that car.  I'm not sure one could drive the car that hard all the time and not tear up a lot of equipment or burn through a few motors.  And not to mention that Kyle is one of the best drivers out there.

Ian Madsen full-time. I had mentioned before about Madsen in the Roth car due to the Muddy 2 going away to focus on business ventures, but I believe from what I;ve heard Kerry Madsen will be back full-time in the SWR 17 in 2018. From my understanding there will be at least 4-5 new regulars for this season joining. Both Shark Cars, Knipp and Marks will return for 2018. I believe Rico will be full-time in 2018 as well.

Wow, that would be the deepest WoO field since the early 2000s.

Madsen to the 17 makes a ton of sense as he and Swank had a lot of success in the past.

My point was that the 17 cars CAN win, given the right pilot.

If indeed the 2 car is closing down shop I could understand Madsen going to the 17 with Swank. If that's not the case I think Madsen/Forbrook is better than Madsen/Swank in the given equipment. IMHO

Normally the schedule comes out at PRI, but Carter said on Winged Nation that they are releasing it next week.

Heaed on Winged Nation that something big is going to happen close to home ,It would be good to make the spring race at Charolett bigger ,but I hope they dont schedule against the Weikert race at Port or the big one at Mandfield.

The more big paying shows the better but i hope they dont start running against each other.
