Kathleen Hughes and Justin Loh, thank you and the rest of the Williams Grove personal for one if the most disappointing disgraceful  worthless attempts at a racing program . I've been watching sprint car racing for over. 20 years and that was that most Sickening putrid thing I've ever witnessed at a dirt track . I'm boast toward PA drivers and tracks so I usually take up for you no matter what . But what you allowed to happen tonight was the worst thing in sprint car racing probably in the last. 3 decades. That first little shower that came through barely affected the racing surface. Every push truck, every vehicle in the pit area should have been out ther preventing the track from being lost . No effort was made! You gave up , you wanted to cancel because of the horrible crowd turn out . That was your way of cutting your losses . To hell with us fans who did show up and braved the less than stellar condisions . To hell with us. Tonight ....,Williams Grove, Hughes, Loh. You literally just proved how little you care about your paying fans and are only out to make a  $. . Not promote sprint car racing . Shame one you Kathleen and Justin for not caring about the sprint car community or sprint car racing . Shame on you for being greedy.

ROBBED. For all of us who are currently driving hours home from the Grove after seeing the most pathetic attempt at a racing event  in the history of sprint car racing . We all know what it like to be robbed. Thank you Justin and Kathleen for making me SICK!!!!!!!! I'm soo sick that I'm not sure when I'll be able to shell out my money there again ,

I feel bad for Wendal, he must be having some bad stuff going on to not have more fortitude in dealing with rain causing dirt to become slippery mud.   I can't imagine any cancelled sporting event cause so much angst.   Surely after decades of going to races a person could sit at a pizza parlor and talk racing with a friend.

I went down to the railroad tracks to railfan the rest of the evening. Wet windshield off and on, then at 9:17 pm it drizzled constant.

It will be OK. Just go to your safe space and get a cupcake, milk, and some crayons and it will be all better.

I live 15 miles south of the grove, it was raining at my place at 6 pm. Sometimes the writing is on the wall.

Dude to be fair, you drove to the track when the forecast was questionable. You win some, you lose some. I've driven to many races and got rained out. It's never fun but I guarantee I'll do it again many times before I kick the bucket. Is what it is. Chill out and move on.

Any true sprint car fan has experienced a rain out. Unfortunately I have been rained out at least 50 times over the last 30 years of watching dirt track racing. It is what it is.....disappointed tonight sure, but it was the risk I was willing to take even with a 180 mile round trip.

I have to agree with this post. If Williams Grove saw this forecast they should have cancelled earlier. Bottom line is it was a 4000 pay out and the attendance was the worst Ive seen in 20+ years. If they would have kept the push trucks running and made an effort I could accept that. The bottom line is they did cut their losses. If it was an Outlaw Show they wouldve waited til 2-3 am (Ive been to a few where they have). Williams Grove car counts and attendance are down because of BS like this. Youd think theyd reward loyal fans for making the trip but nope. It is very sad and sickening what happened last evening. PATHETIC. From Bruce Ellis, to Kathleen Hughes to Justin Loh...just down right awful. I will have to seriously consider it before I spend one more single dime at this racetrack.

It makes me mad when people try to do things to make money.  I, on the other hand, go to work every week and do it out of the kindness of my heart.  All these silly people trying to be profitable in their business ventures.

I get your point, but they aren't there to entertain you for free, so please leave that part of your post out.

Then if didn't rain, the same handful of whiners would be taking to the internet to bitch about that. The bottom line is iffy weather puts a track owner and promoter between a rock and a hard place. No track is going to wait all night with a bad forecast and bad crowd and lose their ass to "reward a few loyal fans". That's ridiculous to think that. They did what EVERY dirt track promoter in the country would have done. Geez Louise, some of you need to get a life if you can't find something else to do when it RAINS on race night. It's not easy to run a profitable dirt track in today's world. Instead of the constant and mostly unfair criticism, you guys should be thanking Ms. Hughes for keeping Williams Grove a track. With the urban sprawl that's coming real close to the track, it wouldn't be hard to sell to a developer and make the property another group of townhouses. Maybe you and Wendell can pull your resources together and purchase the track.

Spot on post!.......Today's promotors have a tough job. In the old days, before smart phones, access to up todate weather forcasts, etc. fans would still show up if the weather was iffy, NO MATTER WHAT, and take their chances. If a race rained out it was no big deal, you would just try again the following week. Now race fans will stay home with a questionable weather forecast and follow the races on their phones, computers, twitter etc. if they do get the races in, and if it rains out like last night.......bitch up a storm. Guess what, next weekend's weather is going to be sunny and warm for the two day Outlaw show. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy the races instead of bitching on a message board on things the Williams Grove management had no control over.

perhaps someday when you are a greeter at Walmart on the side of the former Williams Grove Speedway you could reminisce about the day you were rained out for me I'll reminisce about the wild duels Opperman and weld had or in victory Lane when Mitch beat usacor maybe the day when van raced on minus the front wheel I plan on being there this weekend perhaps to see history when Fred Junior wins his first outlaw race I hope it doesn't raining

the "R" word is always an issue is it not?  rain is rain right?  so, with that being said it's 70 degrees already here @ 10AM in Chico and off to placerville for the KWSs 410 show tonight   and it's 105 miles one way, nothing to complain about here, just love going racing.  and yes, i can remember  skagit and the dirt cup getting out at 2:30 am or Knoxville raining so hard there was standing water at the bottom of three and four!

On her deathbed my Mother rose up and stated, "shit happens, lets get this over with!"  true story so for all that cannot look up "any" weather report maybe you should just stay home.

Peace Out...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...
