Sooner Late Models will headline Saturday's Mark Robinson Memorial
MEEKER, Okla. (October 4, 2016) - The inaugural Sooner Late Model Series season comes to a close with the final event of the 2016 season Saturday at Brill’s Motor Speedway.
Series points leader Mark Harrison will have to use the consistency he has used all season to wrap up the SLMS championship.
Harrison has yet to win a SLMS feature but has finished in the top five in all ten events run to-date. Two-time winner Eddie Martin is within striking distance in second just 60 points behind Harrison. Jay Sale, also a two-time winners holds down third, Dalton Ragsdale sits in fourth and Jason Redman holds down fifth.
Through ten events six drivers have made their way to the winners circle. In addition to Martin and Sale, Randy Timms leads all winners with three victories while Kip Hughes, Harlan Sale and Damian Patocha have one each.
Saturday’s race is also the 3rd annual Mark Robinson Memorial.
The sport mods and modifieds will both pay $750 to win and $100 to start. The mini stocks will be payed $200 to win. Also, the MINI STOCKS WILL HAVE AN OPEN TIRE RULE for the last two races and the pure stocks will be allowed to run their home track rules. No mixing of the rules, pick one set of rules and stick to them.
The WOW sprints will also be running.
Brill’s Motor Speedway is located on state highway 18 just outside of Meeker. From the Turner Turnpike (I-44), exit at the Chandler exit and follow highway 18. Track is about 10 miles south of the US 66 highway 18 junction. From I-40 take exit 186 in Shawnee and go north 16 miles on highway 18.
