Alright, the racing was pretty darn good I'll give it that but. But the bleachers in turn 4 gotta go! Were they designed for MIDGETS!?, good grief.... Not to mention the huge dirt clods nailing people all night...including myself! I took a large chunk of dirt to the gut. I used to play baseball, and it felt like being hit by an atleast 75 mph fastball... The chunk was nearly as big as a baseball. A bunch of people got nailed in the turn 4 bleachers... I dunno what could be done about it except maybe raise the catch fence so the big chunk atleast get broken up a little by the fence... Many guys were shielding their wives...a lot of people it seemed couldn't even enjoy a lot of the racing because they were more concerned about being nailed in the face...Sorry rant over! :P

Thats half the fun of going!! Who hasn't been hit? My friend has a scar on his forehead from turn 4 @ chico, and i damn near fractured my jaw thanks to a rock at 'stoga! I know it sucks, but it's part of the deal. My personal favorite thing to do @ chico is watch the newbies in the turn one bleachers scatter during hot laps not realizing that the dirt WILL become part of your attire by time trials.

Ok a little dirt is one thing, but getting bones broken and scars from dirt clods is another! lol.

Just give me a higher catch fence and some more realistically dimensioned bleachers, and I'll be happy. wink

first time i went to the gold cup we sat in the front of the main grandstand behind the flagman and still got pelted. it does hurt, but i'm not sure a catchfence is the answer. It's the price we pay for having a good racing surface.
