Ended up being a pretty good night at the old Historic Half Mile. The track started off pretty bad, but came in as the night progressed, something that hardly EVER happens at Sedalia. Multiple grooves made for very good racing all through the field. Not tremendous racing, but very good nonetheless. And the crowd WAS tremendous. Way more folks than I would have believed. All-in-all, a pretty darn good night in my old hometown.

It was a very enjoyable night of racing. The track was pretty dry, but as you said there was multiple lines and drivers really had to work to not spin there tires and get a run on guys. There was a terric field of drivers even with a lot the 410 guys running at Husets instead. The crowd was terrific and seemed very excited about seeing sprint cars back at the half mile.

Only two minor complaints. The ticket line was just silly, as was the idea of having all reserved seating. Just sell all general admission and get us in there, we can find ourselves a seat when we get into the grandstand.

The other complaint I had was the amount of down time, especially for a Sunday night show with only one class of cars. The two intermissions could have been merged into one. We could have been out of the track at 9:30 or 10, but instead got out at 10:35. It's a two hour drive for me to get back home from Sedalia so I would have appreciated less down time, but I know going to any race that there is a possibility of a late night so that wasn't a huge deal.

Two minor complaints for an otherwise fun night of racing. Let's keep the momentum rolling and have racing at the fairgrounds next year.

I think the two breaks were the promotors' attempt to stretch the show out some... And the ticket lines were ignorant. Never seen that before.

On another note- that eleven year-old girl BELTED out the Star Spangled Banner. My Gawd. She's goin' places.
