Im gonna get lit up for this but does anyone else think Logan should start looking elsewhere ? I think hes too talented to stay on the "bobby allen relive my youth tour" I think the team is set up for mediocre finishes out on the outlaw circut. And I think he would be better off driving for somene else as far as his racing career is concerned. Grandpa/ father is doing a cool thing but sometimes it seems this shark racing tour is just as much about him getting back out on the trail, as it is about logan and jacob becoming good sprint car drivers. If I was logan id say thanks pap, it was fun but now I gotta do whats best for me and my racing career. Adios gramps.

What do you all think?

Who's car is he gonna drive?  This happens all the time "I think driver X deserves a better ride".  There are no rides for him to take.  We're in an era that if you want to race you have to put a car on the track.  He should be thankful that "pap" is taking across the country to race with the best in the world.  Both Shark drivers have improved greatly in the last two years, and that's because of gramps.

Exactly.....Experience of a life time....There are many that would love to make this work but few that can and Bobby is the one that knows what it takes and where to get it. They would be Pa. porch struggling with a win here and there without him or maybe not doing it at all. He has made this happen all his life and proven he still can.. They will be just fine and living the life many young racers just get to dream about...GO SHARK!!

My guess is if a BETTER ride came along , Bobby would say "take it , and good luck. You can still ride down the road with me".

Bobby told me at Terre Haute last October he was going to be on the road with the kids for two years to teach them the tricks of the trade. That second year is about up so we'll see if Bobby comes back out again in 2016. He's also 71 years old so I don't think he's doing all this travel as an ego trip but wants the boys to learn what being on the road is like and what it takes to stay out there. I salute Bobby for what he's doing as I never would've thought he'd find the resources to keep even one car running with the Outlaws much less two. I still don't know how he does it but I have a ton of respect for him.

Good Luck Shark Racing...

Too bad people gotta take shot at drivers whenever they feel fit...(See Cody Darrah) above...If you don't have anything good to say keep it to your self...I will say 1 thinkg about Cody...I saw him race before we went on the Outlaw trail and now that he is back...That kid is a different driver....He's come a long way....Thats a GD fact!

Well im not saying that bobby allen doesnt know what hes doing out there. Guys won alot and been around for awhile. I think his knoxville nationals hype is a bit overrated but thats for a different conversation. I just know that the early years are critical in a drivers career, and id hate to see him spend 5 yrs of his 20's, running for a underfunded two car team. I think hes fully capable of winning races for a high dollar team, whether it's an outlaw, local or whatever.

On winged nation last week he told Kendra that he planned on being on the road full time for 2 MORE years with the boys. I sure hope so. I love that somebody has made it work the way Shark has for this long. I have wondered forever why you don't see more teams consolidating and running 2 cars out of one rig to be able to help afford being on the road. Yeah its a bit more cramped than the TSR trailer but clearly there is plenty of room for 2 complete cars, 2 spare cars and a mule in those rigs.

Ever since Shark announced that they were going on tour year before last I have thought that if I ever win the lottery, along with setting myself up with lots of open wheel cars, I would track them down at a race somewhere a few times a year and go buy 40 tires and a $5,000 fuel card and dump em beside thier rig.

Of course I would love to see them in a better situation. I would love to see them unload equipment each night that is completely on par with the other guys on the tour, and have plenty more fresh stuff ready to go in the cabinets. I would love to see guys coming to their trailer asking for used tires instead of them going hunting. But, those boys are making themselves better at the game by doing it this way instead of having unlimited resources. They are learning how to squeeze every bit of speed out of less than top notch equipment. They are learning how to compensate for lack of tires and horsepower with their driving and setups. After doing without and making up for it for a few years they will be hell on wheels if given a shot on a team with unlimited funding. Competing against the best competition with lesser equipment has never made somebody a worse driver and usually makes somebody a much better driver in the long run.

To the OP... yeah it would be awesome to see Logan in a better ride, and I'm sure gramps would be the first guy saying "Go do it boy".... But there are thousands of us in this country who would LOVE to be have an opportunity to go race full time with Bobby Allen running the show for us. Even a shoestring outlaw team is a much better situation than 99% of us guys who try to race will ever be in.

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Wow! That is wild. I thought bootstrapping it for one season was reasonable and when they went at it again this year I thought "these guys are hard core". The fact that they envision doing it a couple more years is mind numbing but I give them all the credit in the world and wish them only the best.

Both guys are better this year, Jacob in particular. There seem to be less start and parks and Logan has had some impressive runs lately. I hope a win is coming soon, tough competition running against the top 5 at the Knoxville Nationals every night though, plus the locals who come ready to race.

Dead on the money. Those boys learned more over the last season and a half being out on the road with the best in the business than they would in 5 years on the porch running the same 3 tracks 90% of the time. Sure they'd win more in Pa but what they're doing right now is going to make them much better drivers whether they get a ride on tour or come back home and race in the future. Seeing all of these different tracks and being around the best sprint car drivers in the world night after night can't be duplicated by running Lincoln and Williams Grove every week.

You really think bobby allen is taking these kids racing all over the country because he wants to relive his youth?  Wow.  You must have no idea of what kind of life these guys on the world of outlaws tour live.

Many of the greats starting back in the '70's have given Bobby Allen much of the credit for where the modern sprint car design came from. The sprint car has only evolved from that era. There has been no earth shattering reinvention of the sprinter. Jan opperman talks about the 4-bar frame that came out of Don Maxells shop in Lincoln, NE back in the '70's and how much of Bobby Allen's influence was in that car. He also applauded Bobby Allen for not keeping all his inovations and techniques private, that instead he shared all his knowledge with all the drivers of the day. My point is this.....today Bobby Allen has two young drivers out on the road racing against the best in the land, and all over the land. The education they are recieving and the experience they are gaining might be nearly priceless. Time will tell how these two young drivers will evolve in sprint car racing, but my gut tells me that Bobby will have them well prepared for the day when they "graduate" to much better equipment. And it might just be The New Shark Team that provides that equipment. Keep in mind, many of the greatest drivers evolved from lessor equipment. A good number of the rich kids with all the best equipment seem to come and go, without getting any better than when thay came along. Maybe they relied to much on the equipment, and didn't have the hard knock experience to apply the right kind of knowledge and experience these two kids are going to have. We'll see.....

Kind of reminds me of what Justin and Rod Henderson did 10 or so years ago. The old D1 car did not have a lot of funding and they did the tour for a couple of years. Now Justin is an above average driver and he takes care of his equipment. I think they're doing the right things and will get their opportunitys.

Ford, the Cody Darrah shot was unnecessary.  I think he has proved his talent by running second, so far this year, to the All-Star kingpin Dale Blaney.  He also won the Weikert Memorial at Port Royal earlier this year with some impressive driving against Brent Marks.  Youtube it, watch the moves he makes, and then talk about how he has a "lack of talent.".  C'mon Man.

I don't think he was taking at shot at Cody, he just stated a fact. I think what he was talking about was the fact that despite some flashes of brilliance, Cody struggled most of the time out on the road and I wouldn't consider that taking a shot because he did struggle. He doesn't have WoO talent. Simple as that. I think if he can get out there and stay out there, he just might end up being a championship contender some day but its been proven in the past by Donny, Pittman etc. that you don't just go out on the road with those guys and start kicking ass overnight. It takes years of experience IF you have the talent to develop which I think Cody does if he can get back out there and stay there. Cody, Lucas and the Schuchart team all won some races in Pa before they went on the road but once they got out there, they all struggled and its not at all a knock against them but rather a testament to how good you have to be to win with the WoO on a consistent basis.
