Tod mentioned a couple national events for the 360s, big ones. I wonder if he's hoping to get the 360 Nationals under the NSL 360 banner instead of ASCS?

I am very curious to see what exact rules package they come out with. Sounds like aluminum blocks for ASCS next year and if thats the case, you might just as well be 410 racing. Hopefully something is done to bring costs back to reality with this division. There are alot of 360 engines just sitting idle due to the ever expanding rule book, that allows more and more to be done with heads, ect..

Aluminum blocks will actually save teams money in the long run, Not much you can do when you damage and iron block except throw it out. Aluminum can at least be repaired.

I wonder what the 305 C.I. engine package is going to be like that is possibly in the works for Jackson & Knoxville for next season. Will it be like the IMCA 305's or something totally different.

With that reasoning the 305 class should have aluminum blocks also..

I would bet my money on the Knoxville 360 nationals and the Short Track Nationals.

Hopefully, there will be some tech. What rules are they gonna use? Hopefully they dont use the ASCS model of don't ask, don't tell. Tommy was a part,of that.

In part 2 I wondered about one of his comments:

"Knoxville is a great facility, but to be honest, except for a few guys, we've had a hard time getting their weekly racers to leave on a Friday night to run with the NSL. It makes me wonder, why? We are racing two hours away in Britt, Iowa, there is tow money and more with the way we have things structured, but we can't get some of these very competitive teams to run more than once a week."

If you look at the top 15 in NSL points, 11 of those drivers are considered "Knoxville" cars. We all know the BDS

Motorsports team (Justin Henderson) wasn't going to travel. Heskin, who sits 16th in points had traveled to a majority

of NSL races up until July. Maeschen is the only competitive Knoxville driver who has not ran with the NSL consistently.

Other than that, it leaves drivers like Selvage, Schneiderman, RJ Johnson, Mike Moore, Bob Weuve, AJ Moeller, and Ryan

Bunton. Those drivers are your typical weekend warriors who work for a living and don't always have the freedom to

make it to more than one race a week. What more was he wanting out of the Knoxville driver lineup?

I wish 305 class was crate/racesaver only. Attica/Fremont has been getting 25 to 30 cars per night this year, which is great, but damn is it expensive

NSL has to put a stop to the ever expanding 360 engine rules if they want to succeed.  The class was built on affordable competitive racing.  But now you need a $40k motor with CNC'd spec heads just to keep up.  That trend has to be reversed or not much will change.  As said above, there are lots of 360s just sitting.  They have find a way to make them competitive again without spending a bunch of money.  Hopefully Tommy and crew try some things to do that.  And please, no aluminum blocks.

There seems to be a lot of bad feelings being spilled on Twitter and Facebook this morning. Looks like Scott Traylor bad mouthed some people and some other folks are firing back at him.

In response to the OP, there is rumor floating that the Knoxville 360 nationals, the short track nationals, and one other "big" 360 show will all be under the National Sprint League banner next year. I'm not quite sure what the other "big" event would be.

My guess as to the "big" show would be Jackson Speedway.  Now that he owns it, and considering the ramp up for the Nationals purse this year, I'd say Jackson will be his big show.

My best guess is that it will be at the Jackson Speedway.

LOL, I didn't read your post before I guessed Jackson, really...   It seems like a no-brainer that would be the location and I'm not the only one who thinks that.  wink

During the Nationals Tod Quiring talked about his disappointment on how many Knoxville cars never ventured out.    With about less than ten regulars at that, with over 40-50 drivers who signed up, where are they.   Outside of an area with no 410's,  heck they only got 18 at Fairmont, Mn.   Talked with several fans & some teams and they kinda said that Tod needs to figure out how to get his show moving more smoothly, knock off all the supposed pagentry .    I know at Husets they haven't been drawing stellar crowds.

Since Chuck Z is on board with the NSL I suppose it was easy to try it with the 360's.    One thing I have to give credit too is the ASCS format over the timing crap n' dashes.....

Been to a few of their passing points dhows and no passing. At least with qualifying you get better cars in the dash, now that's what The NSL is lacking, pill redrawing like ASCS does is not racing..
