Where to begin...
ON TRACK: The speed is unreal, the wall and the fact that it has a straight part at the exit of 2 that Haud uses as a launching pad. SLIDEJOBS SLIDEJOBS SLIDEJOBS, you can see them coming a half lap and sometimes a lap ahead.
HISTORY: Andretti, Foyt, Carter, Unser and the rest of the legends that raced there. Jack Hewitt winning the 4 crown. The original $50k-$100k sprint car race.
PERSONALLY: When I was turning wrenchs we made the Kings Royal with a car that had 60 races on it and a motor that had 30 on it. It rained the day of and were in a heat with Sammy, Andy Hillenburg, Kenny Jacobs and Danny Smith. We held onto 3rd to transfer, it was just awesome. Even better was when all 4 mentioned above walked by and congratulated us.

Agree to all above and more.
The Big "E" has wowed me everytime I've been there and I've been there probably 25 time in the past 10 years.

Size and shape, combined with a very talented hard working promoter that stayed consistent for the first 50 years.

There's something about entering Darke County, It's the same as Marion County, You know you are in for a wail of a good time and it's going to include some Awesome Racing. I love Eldora, Sadly I had to miss last year and this year.
I remember the first time I ever saw Winged Sprints there, It was the year after "The Million" which I attended so I was still pretty new to the joint. I sat about 6-8 rows up from the track on the front stretch just to watch Hot Laps, Steve Kinser was the first car to come around at Speed and it kind of freaked me out how damn fast they were getting around that track and the speed they had coming off of turn 4, I almost felt the urge to move up further in the stands because they were so damn fast. Pretty damn cool place.

Its not a fairgrounds its a racetrack,,,,the echo off the backstretch is unreal,,,,,,,the facility is fan friendly with plenty of restrooms, reasonable prices on food and beer! Plenty of room for camping and parking without a huge charge, and plenty of good racing!

Not sure if referring to me but I never said it was a Fairgrounds, But it is in Darke County and when I see that Darke County sign on the Highway I know in just a few more Miles I'm gonna be rolling up on the Campers & Race Fans.

I could go on and on, dad started takin me there in the mid 60's. Nothing coming up st rte 118 or anything in the parking lot out front to really tip you off to the magnitude of whats there. I still love the anticipation, entering through the main gate, walk straight thru to look out over the track. Gets me goin every time. Been to race tracks all over the country. There is NO PLACE like Eldora!
