The fastest, baddest modifieds in the region will descend upon Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma this coming Saturday night as the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) makes their first and only appearances for the 2015 race season.
In last year’s inaugural event atop the Lanny and Beverly owned, quarter mile-red clay oval, Stormy Scott edged Rodney Sanders to win the 40 lap main event.
Among the drivers expected include defending series champion Rodney Sanders, Johnny Scott, Grant Junghans, Jesse Sobbing, Stormy Scott, Kelly Shryock, Casey Carneson, Dereck Ramirez, Jason Hughes, Joe Duvall. .
As mentioned, a stout field of local track regulars will look to win one for the home crowd, including Stanley Reed, Jr., James Reed, C.A. Nix, Thomas Nunley, Jason Hilliard, Daniel Cox, Travis Bragg, Jayman Gregory, Chad Howell and Chris Cary. A host of non touring regulars and non track regulars are also expected including Thomas Tillison, Jr., Jeremy and Dee Gossett, Gene Weaver and a host of others. Over forty drivers from around the region are expected.
Gates open at 6:00 PM with race time set for 8:00 PM. Also running will be the limited modifieds.
Adult general admission is $15 for ages eleven and up; ages 12-15 $10; ages 6-11 $2; students and seniors $10 and kids ages 5 and under admitted free into the grandstands. All pit passes are $35.
