Ameri-Flex/OCRS Series Return To Brill Motor Speedway Saturday

Tulsa Okla. (June 23, 2015) – This coming Saturday night will see the return of the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprint cars to the Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker Oklahoma for round number nine on the 2015 racing season. Brill Motor Speedway has recently re-opened under track owner Mark Brill and the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprint car event is the first sprint car program for the track since unlocking the gates a few weeks ago.

“We are very pleased to be back at Brill Motor Speedway,” stated series head man Barry Grabel. “Mark (Brill) has been a loyal promoter to our series and we are thankful for his loyalty and grateful to be back at his racetrack.” Grabel then added: “It took us awhile to get a date from Mark in the beginning, but we put a deal together a few years ago (2012) to run here and since then, Mark has welcomed us back ever since and we are glad we can put on a show for his fan base.”

This will be the first return for the Ameri-Flex / OCRS series to Brill Motor Speedway since Danny Smith scored a non-wing victory in June of 2013. BMS also hosted the 2013 season opener (another non-wing affair), which was won by Harli White who went on to win the championship that year.

Brill Motor Speedway is a 3/8-mile track with a bright reddish clay surface. There have been some great events held at BMS and on Saturday night, the wild sprinters of the Ameri-Flex / OCRS series looks to add to that trend.

BMS will have FREE BEER on hand and will it be available until the end of intermission for those fans 21 years and older. Photo I.D. WILL BE REQUIRED and do drink responsibly.

Nutz n’ Boltz’:

It Isn’t Monopoly Money:
Ameri-Flex Hose & Accessories and Brill Motor Speedway have added extra cash for this weeks event. The program will pay $1500 to the winner with all main event starters guaranteed a season high $275 to start the 25 lapper. We can hear Pink Floyd’s cash register open now. Cha-Ching

5 Going For 6:
There have been five different winners on the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprint car tour from the eight events held so far. Nigel Calvert, Sean McClelland, Jamie Passmore, Robert Sellers and last weekends winner, Gary Owens are the five pilot studs. Can a sixth winner “Park-It” this weekat BMS? Don’t bet against it.

Owens Is King Of Oklahoma Sports Park:
Gary Owens has things going his way at the Oklahoma Sports Park. Last Saturday night, Owens won the Harold Leep Jr. Memorial race (held at OSP each year) for the third consecutive year. Owens also took the Oklahoma State Championship race at OSP in 2011. Wanna bet who are the odds on favorite to strike at OSP next time out?

Perk Me Sucka:
The Ameri-Flex / OCRS series has a bevy of ‘Perks” that the drivers can be awarded throughout various events. At OSP last weekend, Danny Smith was showered with them. He was awarded a new Hoosier Tire as offered by Dyno Services of Oklahoma. He also was the Action Auto Collision Hard Charger and he also was awarded a product certificate from Rod End Supply. Not a bad haul for a fifth place finisher.

Burning The Midnight Oil:
The Brett Wilson team thrashed all week long to get a car put together after flipping their original mount at Tri-State Speedway 2 weekends back. The car they picked up needed some extra work and the trashing began. Working into the late hours of multiple nights, the team got their new wheels ready in time for the Harold Leep Jr Memorial at OSP Saturday night. Wilson finished 11th to maintain his hold in the top 10 in the Ameri-Flex / OCRS point standings. Those are No-Doze officer, really.

Excuse Me - Coming Through - Excuse Me
Whit Gastineau put on a passing clinic in the main event at OSP Saturday. After stalling the car at the start of the race, Gastineau restarted at the rear of the field and wasted no time picking off cars. Sometimes one at a time and other times in multiple moves. The crowd in attendance admired every lap turned. The ‘Gasman’ brought the car home for a fourth place finish. For those who may be curious, Gastineau didn’t get the Action Auto Collision Hard Charger as the official stating position is what you are credited with towards the award. Gastineau originally started eighth.

Fighter Pilots In Da House:
Some high profile pilots were wandering around the grounds at OSP. National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Shane Carson was wheeling the Bob Hurley Ford pace truck during the night and former NCRA champion and Ofixco pilot Jerry Stone was strolling around with his wife Judy. Both of these men turned a mean wheel in their days. Very honored to have you with us gentlemen.
