Last time I posted something positive on here about the new Huset's, I got crucified. I just think we at least give it a chance. As a resident of Sioux Falls, I'm excited about next year and Saturday night racing. I still think they will get 20 410s, and I think Brennan is committed to making it a great RACE TRACK...not just a concert venue. (although that will be cool t0)

You have resurfaced with a new user name and are claiming to have been "crucified" in you last post for being "positive".
Curious. Do you believe it was it the "...sick of the boring 410 sprint car races at Knoxville" comment, or, the "Knoxville = amateur hour" comment that was positive in you last post?
I know I attempted to engage you in an honest, civilized discussion regarding your inflammatory and derogatory comments toward Knoxville and high praise for the new owner of Huset's. To no avail...no response.

You're right...I was a bit over the top on my response about "amatuer hour" and "boring racing" at Knoxville (1 to many beers). Again, sorry. That was disrespectful, and I really don't mean it.
But, I do think it's going to be cool at Badlands/Huset's next year. I've heard of some of the plans to the facility. It's going to be amazing, and I still think they will be good on cars.

i think the loan shark needs to find someone else to be his shill on message boards. You are not good at it and you are too obvious about it.

Mr Brennan talks about how great he is going to make the Huset's facility. If the track doesn't get decent numbers of sprint cars it won't matter how good the facility is, it will be a failure as a sprint car track.

Seems odd that this guy thinks the best route is to rebrand. I've read quite a few posts on here and while some have been negative, I don't think there's an overall negative association with Huset's Speedway. Seems much smarter to me to stick with that name - could have simply just done Huset's Speedway at Badlands Entertainment Complex to get the new name in there.
Video seems kind of interesting - all drivers still refer to it as Huset's and it sounds like it's carefully edited in spots. When Dusty Zomer is talking around 1:45 and he gets into talking about changes and says that "sometimes you have good things" it naturally sounds like he would follow with "sometimes you have bad". Given the pacing of his sentence and the quick cut to Dobmeier's quotes I'm thinking the last half of that sentence was sad but cut from this video. Stuff like that (not even remotely entertaining the thought of making bad changes) makes me think this guy has tunnel vision in his plans for the racetrack.

You've got to put fans in the stands also. We'll see how that goes if in fact higher ticket prices & reserved seating happens next year.

Perhaps Mr. Brennan AND his new employee - Tom Savage Jr. should sit down for a racing history lesson with Tom Savage Sr.? They both could learn a few things there!

You are absolutely right about rebranding.....Ford Taurus WAS a #1 seller, so Ford changed it to the "500" and sales went in the tank.....Ford now again has the Taurus, and is selling just fine (even tho I'm a Chevy guy).....Years ago nameplates like Impala and Malibu went by the wayside....Chevy of course again has Malibu and Impala nameplates....The new owner of HUSETS has alot of money, but not near as much as Ford or GM.....maybe he should pay attention to his "elders" histories!

I was skeptical when I first heard about it but after seeing the press conference on my cable system racing show, MIDCO Motorsports, and an interview with Terry McCarl I changed my opinion. 410 Sprint Car racing will never grow in the Midwest/Upper Midwest without multiple tracks that run them. Jackson on Fridays and Badlands on Saturdays will provide ample opportunity for the sport to grow. There are 360 clubs around the area like the UMSS up around the Twin Cities, as well as Jackson, Knoxville, Wisconsin and Nebraska. We've got River Cities up in Grand Forks, IMCA in Minnesota and the MSA over in eastern Wisconsin. What does every Sprint Car driver aspire to? Racing 410's. What attracts sponsors? Multiple tracks in different areas and media coverage to get their name out there.
Look, I understand the loyalty thing and all that but another chance to grow this sport isn't going to come around very often. Either this sport grows when the opportunity is presented by the people who can afford to fund it or it doesn't. Personally I have been known to be a somewhat stubborn old SOB and have a fondness for the good old days of racing dating back to 1960. Nevertheless, when all is said and done I have found out over the years that the best race is the one I just saw in the here and now. I'm not ready to limit my racing to old timers meets and I hope this deal takes off all over the region. There are way too many of those darned Stock Cars and Modifieds around the area for my taste so I consider more tracks running 410's a good thing.

You will be welcome to attend and pay between $10 and $100 for grandstand seating. But hey for $300 you can keep your same seat ALL year! Heck of a deal.

But Jackson on friday and an improved Husets on Sunday would be just as good. Plus teams would have the option to tow to Knoxville on Saturday. Wouldn't the oppertunity to race for $3000 to win 3 nights a week be better?

So when Tod brought us the NSL to the area, the idea was, everyone working together for one goal is the best idea.
He then bought Jackson, something that he had tried to do before.
In the last 20 years as car counts dropped, everyone has thought Jackson should move to Friday.
I don't know much about what deal the Speedway in Jackson has with the town, but Husets moving to Saturday, might open the door for Jackson to run Sunday.
If you look at this realistically, most of the cars and drivers come from the Des Moines area and the Sioux Falls area.
I find it very hard to believe the guys from Des Moines will go to Husets while Knoxville is running 45 minutes away.
On that note, Sioux Falls cars driving by Husets on their way to Knoxville is much more likely, since they do it already.
And what is Husets going to do when the NSL races on Saturdays in Knoxville?
It will be interesting, and if the guy posting truly is excited to go to a race at Husets on Saturday - I hope it works for you, but 18 cars last Sunday, 5 of which were at Knoxville the night before. Doesn't look promising.

Not likely, I'm five hours from Husets and six from Knoxville, rarely go to either one and haven't sat in the stands since the 90's.
I noted in my post that the jury is out on this deal and it could succeed or fail. If they ignore the realities of what the dirt track market is willing to support then they might not do so well. What dirt track fan is going to bring the wife and kids and pay $100 per seat? We should fear rumors or this thread will die. LOL

Not sure how this is so hard to understand for some... Husets updating the track and running on their standard Sunday show with more pay would benefit all drivers and tracks.
